That kid egged Anning because he disagreed with his politics. It's ideological violence, no matter how minor. It should be abhorred in all forms.

Campaign to have him be censured by the government, for the restriction of free speech rights so he can't say the drek he did, buy advertisements pointing out what an awful man he is, hell, you can probably even hold up signs outside of his office that point out what a campaigner he is.

But political violence HAS to be off the table, up until it is literally the last resource.

Step 4: With notoriety duly established, begin to overplay topical issues/policies in a bid for mass appeal

The only reason she was mentioned by the shooter is because she is a cultural friction point. Everything he did and said was designed to cause more ideological conflict. The mentions of both her, Pewdiepie, and a bunch of other people/topics was to increase the drama surrounding these people, because they are already sites of a flaming culture war. She most certainly had zero influence on his life in general let alone the attack.
