It looks like Thewlis Dish cancelled his account. Anyone know why?

A lot of the OG early 2000s crew don't like how this place has been taken over by numpties.
Suspect TD might be in the same category.

He's actually Tommy Powell's Dad, was all getting a bit close to home the posting here.

I see we still haven’t found out a way to teach about diversity/inclusion without the need to delve into collective responsibility...

From the article:

A female Year 11 student told the newspaper pupils were “shocked” by the presentation and that the male students had felt “ashamed” and “targeted”.

“It was so messed up, we thought for a moment it was a joke, but then we realised it wasn’t and we were so upset and angry by it all,” the 16-year-old said.

Pardon me if I don't shed a tear for the poor little dears.

Sigh,
Do we really have to go into collective responsibly or guilt and why it doesn’t work, it’s history/practice?
do we have such thing as collective morals?
do you really want such a thing no one being held responsible, as the individual no longer has responsibly, as it’s a collective now..

All they’ve managed to do is demonised a certain section of the classroom for no benefit.
At a guess the social workers whos programme it was wouldnt understand the base philosophy of what they’re teaching.

Its text book racism.

I don’t think racism is the correct term, but the ideology behind collective guilt also leads to moral disengagement. It’s when an individual can commit atrocities, as they bare no responsibility.

If a teacher asked immigrant kids to stand up and apologise for their heritage what’s it called?

I personally define racism as when one ethic group displays superiority over another.(simple terms)

so asking someone to check their privilege isn’t necessarily racist..

I dunno how the social worker approached it but from the POV of the privileged, white Christians where they are a dominant (tho not as dominant as a generation ago) demographic, instead of an opportunity to show some empathy (and genuine Christian morals,) with people who cop that shit all the time, wear it with some dignity and get some understanding they whinge and cry about their privilege being challenged.

Sure the social worker was a dickhead. Its been dickheads throughout history who are responsible for this shit.

If the point of such education is to enable a generation of young adults to engage in the thought mechanisms that allow them to critically understand how privilege is handed down from generation to generation due to ethnic and economic strength and how this then impacts upon the ability for those without privilege or power to move forward in society, calling them oppressors is not going to help at all. In fact it alienates and pushes people away from engaging in this understanding in the first place. Odds are this social worker has called at least one teenage kid who is living near or below the poverty line an oppressor. Odds are this social worker has called at least one teenage kid who is living in a broken home an oppressor. Odds are this social worker has called at least one teenage kid who is the victim of domestic violence an oppressor. Odds are this social worker has called at least one teenage kid who doesn't get three meals a day an oppressor. This is just ****ing basic, immature identity politics gone mad and a lazy approach to educating and shining light on a complex societal problem.
