The moment you hear a protest with every second person carrying a sign is a massive red flag. Crowds are kind of like the football, how many people are willing to go to a protest, its a massive difference to someone spending the time to write on a piece of cardboard and bringing it in. But they’ll be happy to hold it up if someone gave it to them. All of that costs $$$

if you ever want to cause some mischief, get to a protest early and start filming and interviewing the people handing out the signs.

Yes and no. People do make their own signs all the time. It is when the signs are overly consistent I'm appearance and message.

It seems that they need to do a bit of staff training (or whatever its called these days) at one of those telephone scammer organisations. I have a few of these "highly ethical" outfits ring me on a regular basis. Depending on my mood at the time I may or may not lead them on for a while.

Today it was "Jason" from Telstra "Fraud" department telling me that people were illegally using our internet. Which I must say happens a lot according to these very helpful people. And which is also nice to know because we don't use Telstra, but that's by the by.

Recently I had one intrepid soul from Telstra, very kindly there to help and so I asked him if he would be able to assist with some advice on a friend's sick dog. He tried hard to get me back on track, before eventually giving up and terminating the call.

Anyway we got off to quite a pleasant start today, until "Jason" (with a very unlike Jason accent) detected a bit too much enthusiastic sarcasm in my response, to which he said, "You think I am joking don't you." "Of course I do" I said, to which he replied.

"You f*****g m*****f****r" and hung up.

Hardly the best way to treat a "valued" customer.

Just an update on the "nice" people from Telstra. Jason's mate Jacob rang me yesterday to also assist solve my internet problems. I decided to take a much more serious and concerned approach to Jacob. I said, "oh, you've rung me about my covid-19 test. Do you have the results?" He was plunged into a state of great uncertainty, We spent a short few minutes where I persisted in asking him for my covid-19 test results. Unlike Jason, he did not tell me what he thought of me, but instead just hung up.

You have a lot more faith in the individual and a lot less belief in the organisation of ngo’s then I do..

You believe way too much in conspiracy stuff, will believe the conspiracy over the common sense, most times.

I can’t remember the exact stat but the amount of fish we’re pulling out of the ocean every year has lead to an enormous shortage of fish. IIRC the prediction is that if we keep doing it ocean will barely have any fish left by half way through this century.

Seems a bit OTT but https://www.theworldcounts.com/challenges/planet-earth/oceans/overfishing-statistics/story

Considering how much freight goes through here this could cause massive headaches for the world, shipping container blocking off the Suez Canal,

It's not a big deal in the big scheme of things.

It's the sort of thing that fortunate idle white people indulge themselves with.
Unlike the really important issues that you've spent just short of 200 posts in the membership thread p*ssing and moaning about. And you're not even a member.

When we went from Cairo across to dahub we crossed the channel and the ships can be seen from quite afar sitting up above the sand dunes.

They’re going to have sell it to the public somehow...

Won’t take much. 75 million of them wanted a second term of Trump. They’re already doing China are evil propaganda.

Hey did you see the Saudi’s (backed by the US) blew up a massive rice silo in Yemen? Crickets in the media.

Edit - It was a grain port not a rice silo

Reminds me of the memo Tillerson received basically pull ya head in.. we use human rights against our enemies, not our friends.
