That video is just a build of the pyramid at the right ratios approximately. I presume if something like that did exist it would use the power of the annual flooding of the Nile to irrigate more land than the flooding of the Nile itself could. That would make it a valuable/worthwhile thing to do. I've heard of people building riverside pumps in Australia that run off the pressure of the Murray river when snow melt increases its flow, a bit like a piston/positive displacement pump i think but I can;t really get my head around it.

Cheap and plentiful below minimum wage slave labour. Like it’s still done nowdays by greedy bosses.
But yeah some of these classic monuments around the world leave you scratching your head on how the **** they did it. No AI back then that’s for sure.

whilst i dont doubt that the ram pump works the ratio of flow you get compared to the volume that has to pass through the ram is very small, maybe some phaoroes garden got a few litres of water?

Due to the expiration of the statute of limitations and the fact he is deceased, I can mention that I was taught about how syphons work when my cousin used a long hose to drain one of the water hazards at the Peterborough golf course simply by submerging the hose, holding his thumb over one end and then stretching it out over the edge of the cliff.

Not quite the same as using a pyramid as a Ram Pump but I'm sure that the locals were wondering how their lake was emptied for a while.

Don't bloody joke about that. My wife drove my old car to work one day for some reason. She specifically asked if it had petrol, and I told her it had heaps. She ran out along the freeway about 10k from our flat. That was in about 1985 so she had to flag down a ride and leave the car until I could arrange to get it.

She still hasn't forgotten it either.

About four cars in our block of flats had their tanks syphoned.

There were blokes kicking around in those days who legitimately could chisel out perfect cubes by hand.

Most stuff these days is built to make commercial sense with little consideration for the finer art side of the trades.

Agree, but the pyramids are different. There’s a fair bit of evidence that they are far older than 4500BCE.

western society even more recently has lost a lot of the skills we had in the 80s, iam seeing pakistan and india videos where they can build/repair machinery ( often in a quite crude manner mind you) than i cant get sorted around here anymore.

check out these guys making petrol tanks, from the bloke "riding" the guillotine at the beginning to the fellas "safety" sandels @ 8:50!!

Maybe, that's how it usually works.

The Nile is ****en huge and most of the tunnels in the pyramid are barely human sized. So it could provide an advantage in big floods by enabling them to save more grain for the lean years. That's exactly the dynamic they talk about in the bible story about Joseph.

The Egyptian Pharaoh's claimed to be gods. And they seemed to get away with it. Maybe keeping their gardens growing during the dry years was how they conned people into taking them seriously.

I have the Pixel 4a and it's been a great phone. Will happily go for another Pixel when the time comes.
