Fair enough......not sure why anybody wouldn't be jumping out of their skin to land at Visy ;)

Someone "in the know" suggests that Essendon is after him heavily and that he has spoken with Hirdy already.

Same person (on the Rumours board) is suggesting that Dangerfield is also likley to jump ship.

Dangerfield would be ideal for us. WANT!

Loosing Gunston's gotta hurt for the Crow supporters they keep loosing players.. However is he one of the best/only forwards available?

Because Pears, Gumbleton and Daniher are/were made of tissue paper?? Not to mention, Fletcher is turning 46 next year?

As much as they've loved to brag about their tall brigade, they haven't gotten great return, and possibly neglected the top tier in the midfield to boot.

But Hurley, Hooker, Carlisle, Daniher (next year), Ryder, Crameri, Steinberg aren't enough?

They have no immediate need for talls. They need some class in the middle

Aside from Hurley and excluding Daniher for now, none of them excite me

I do agree though, I'd be more worried about midfield class.

Look if Essendon out-bid us and take Gunston with their first rounder, only to fail yet again next year due to a lack of quality in the middle I am ok with that

I dont mind him, just didnt want to adumit it :p

Plus he doesn't come across as a genuine KPP to me, more a mid-tall in the Walker mould. .. (Crameri)

not keen on dangerfield myself

i would cast a glance at someone like saint kilda to see who they have. comments like 'end of an era' from ross lyon, perceived to be on the slide, may just have a few wanting to jump ship. gilbert for one (not sure if i'm keen on him either).

i wouldn't pay out the arse for him which would probably be required. much like what i've seen in this thread, what people want and what they are prepared to give up to get it aren't exactly aligned. i would assume we could get better players for equivalent.

You're kidding right?
Don't get drawn into exposed form this year, as the whole team played sad.

If we have a chance to get him, we go for it.

Yeah this first choice Midfield would have most salivating especially the goal scoring abilities. ..

Wing: Dangerfield / Simpson
Rover: Murphy
Centre: Judd
R.Rover: Gibbs

With Scotto, Robbo, Lucas, Tex, Yazz and co to run through there as well. ..

If the Blues actually want Gunston then we can't hold grudges. Other teams will outbid a stupid offer. The situation is different. Teams such as North and perhaps the Bulldogs will lineup with offers. If you want to blame anyone for the Jacobs situation turning out as it did be pissed off with Port who didn't want to go after him. They could/should have made a play for him given that they're going to target a ready made ruck this trading period. They were very short sighted. Even if they didn't complete a trade for Jacobs it would have upped the final price we received. I'd have done exactly what the Crows did given the circumstances.

Something that happens far too often on BigFooty is that posters tend to take the opinions of team's fans as that of the club itself far too easily. As we've seen with the Fevola discussion the thought process of a portion of the fan base can be extremely different to that of the club itself. While some fans would welcome Fev back with open arms the club itself has zero interest in bringing him back. The same goes with the trading process.

Dawes, Gunston and Clark + Any other Forwards

Who do we want and why? What are we willing to give away? And Who are the other options because the only thing we need to add to the recipe for a premiership is
1 Tall forward(Ready made)

Re: Dawes, Gunston and Clark + Any other Forwards

Pretty sure most of this will have been answered here (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=847882)

I'm not sure we need any of these three (Although Gunston for a pick or 2 I don't mind). Kreuzer will hit form next year, Hampson might become a forward, Waite could finally have an injury free season (touch wood), and Mitchell should be coming through.
