I wouldn't mind him, but he's certainly not a priority for us.

He started off well but I think the fact that he was Irish had people overrating his performances. As soon as opposition clubs started to pay him a bit of respect he lost his impact on the game and was eventually dropped.

Doesn't offer us any more than Touhy IMO and we need KPP not half back flankers

Wouldn't mind Bernie Vince, still reckon our midfield is another class player short. ( with Gibbs playing utility need another good midfielder ).

Could use Russell or Bower as trade option.

Personally I think get Russell fit and firing and get him rotating into the centre/wing next year. ..

Would like to have the likes of Russell, Yazz, Jeffie, Betts, Laidler, Walker, etc. rotating through the midfield allowing Judd, Simmo, Murph, Robbo, Scotland, etc. license to play forward on more occasions. .. Robbo and Scotland make good HBFers in that rotation as well. ..

We have an abundance of flankers and if we get them into the midfield rotations then it can only improve our flexibility. ..

Personally I think we have more than enough backs & not enough good midfielders.

Elite - Judd, Murphy

Good - Robbo, Carazzo, Scotland, Simpson

Others - Curnow, Ellard, McLean, Armfield, Lucas

Not including Gibbs as could be used anywhere.

Carazzo & Scotland getting on in years.

I like Russell but do not think he can play midfield.

Russell is a good clubman so probably won't be traded.

Good point on not having enough quality mids.

Lucas and Collins will hopefully take a big step and fill the vacancy that Scotto will leave soon.

Buckley and another quality mid would be very handy this draft period.

Not sure on Marty Clarke...would rather persist with Zachy and get Yaz a tank to go through the midfield.

1. Tyson Goldsack (Collingwood)

Not sure how much you saw of Marty Clarke when he was playing for the Pies but he certainly was not a hack.

He was a very good promising young footballer.

Otherwise I really don't want him. We have Tuohy who's been doing the hard yards in the last couple of years whilst Marty has pissed back off home. I don't think there's room for both of them.

Maybe we're just trying to piss of the Pies who we know will want him back.

I'm happy to piss the Pies off and make the price higher. We don't really need him though, Tuohy is motoring along fine.

Again though if he came cheaply I'd certainly look at him.

In my opinion, I didn't think that much of Marty Clarke.

I probably didn't follow him 100% of the time, but when I did see him - nothing really stood out about him.

Seemed like an average player in my opinion.

He may have been promising ... I just never saw the hype.

clarke was ok, serviceable, but then when an irishman goes ok he seems to get an extra helping of hype when they do what afl born and breds take for granted.
i'd be disappointed if we were looking at/picked him up both on account of that and his actual place in the side on the ground.
