i reckon if you have more than 6 or 7 tabs open at any one time, you'll start having memory issues. each tab is like having a new browser window open

This is definitely the case for IE. Each time you open a new tab it literally starts a new execution of iexplore.exe and then additionally runs software in memory to allow it to go between the various iexplore.exe instances.

In other browsers such as Firefox and Opera it's not the case - the infrastructure required to run the browser at all is considerably more than that required to open up an additional tab.

What's Opera? Can you download that for free?

American talk show hostess. it's finished though. Can be downloaded. You disappoint me Salient Pete thought youd be right into Oprah.

opera.com SP - it's a decent browser, I reckon it handles tabs better than Firefox and Chrome (and obviously IE) but BF doesn't run as well on it, for me at least.

It does handle the Greasemonkey strips that really helped Firefox escape from it's early obscurity as Mozilla Browser, but they can be a pain to get working sometimes.

Really love Adelaide this time of year! Anyone that thinks we're a sleepy little backwater has clearly never been here in Feb-March. :thumbsu::)

Its great but its also confusing IMO.

Fringe, Clipsal, Concerts, Adelaide Festival, Adelaide Cup etc all in one month?

Why not push for them to be atleast a little more spread out? Today you had the choice of Clipsal, Fringe, Soundwave & other side acts around town. In a months time???

Whinge but.

Is it just me because i thought Vanessa Amorosi was really bad signing the national anthem at Clipsal today???

I'd be impressed that she included the deaf people by including them in her performance in this way.;):D

So I need to move house this weekend, anyone know of where I can get my own moving van to hire out for a few days? Looked at Budget rental but that seems damn expensive!
There is a place on the corner of Sir Donald Bradman Drive and South Road that hires out small trucks, which you can drive on your normal driving license. Can't remember the name off hand.

What's your budget and how far do you need to move?

Personally I'd just pay a removalist. Far less rooting around.
this!!

only thing is they cost considerably more than hiring a moving truck

They are quick though. You'll save your weekend, plus they'll set your furniture exactly where it needs to go. At day's end the only thing you'll need to do is unpack your boxes.

And you save putting your back out.

For a few hundred bucks it's worth it in my book. In the scheme of moving, it's nothing.

having moved 4 times by hand in 9 years, the money is very very well spent!

2 of the times i moved i had something go wrong with my car/trailer. 1st time my astra did a timing chain, second time the trailer i hired caught fire because the "trainee" at the hire place didn't release the park brake from the trailer. then after getting a new trailer, that trailer broke my towbar and careered into the back of my car at a rounabout..

**** i hate moving!

+1 :thumbsu:

Moving is the worst. Would rather sit in Bay 13 at a Collingwood v Carlton game! :thumbsd:

also, has anyone here got a galaxy tab or a motorola xoom?

care to share any pros/cons of it?
I have the 7.1 tab.

Pro - lot lighter than taking a laptop with you.
Good battery life.
Works with standard sim cards.
Works with flash.
Works on most web sites.

Con - wont fit in your pocket unless you love cargo pants.
I think HTC have better email and predictive typing based on my desire HD.
Uses a propriety charging cable similar to an Ipad instead of standard micro USB.
Did find that some online flash based games on facebook didn't work, it's only minor though.
Usual problem of sunlight on the screen that comes with all devices.

If I was buying now I would look at the HTC Flyer based off how the sence overlay suits me.
