I "like" to think we're a chance as well... however we've been burnt in the opening round way too many times.
I sincerely hope the team comes out and wins this match well. Be nice to have a winning result override that 1 goal effort last time we played.

with the crows looking like flying over, minus porps & ottens(such creative footballers)we are a huge chance to start the season, with a huge, confidence boosting win.:thumbsu:

Our biggest advantage is obviously the fact that we've had 2 weeks (one prac game, one week off) at home prior to playing Adelaide @ Home.

Subi needs to become impossible to win at for opposition teams for Fremantle to make a significant move up the ladder.

We need to play like we did against Essendon and Port Adelaide at the end of 09. Every week.

It'll be interesting come selection time.

Vince hasn't really had that much of a limited pre season. He completed all of the summer training sessions and has only been missing in action since the week after our round 1 NAB Cup loss to Port.

He looks likely to front up for the SANFL this weekend for some much needed match practice but besides that he has a solid base beneath him.

I'm just excited about seeing our first-string forward line in action - hopefully in dry conditions. I'm sure that Pav, Mayne, Ballas, Johnson, a fit Headland and any other will trouble a few 2010 defenses.

Who is David Beckham? Bugg%# him - I'm more concerned about Ballas getting his leg in shape for round one.

Adelaide are a well-drilled side that don't tend to rely on stars, so they won't be easy. That said, the way the cards have fallen, we should aim to be 2-0 at the start of the season before we face the 2009 grand finalists.

I am hoping for hot conditions - especially if they bring a couple of underdone players across.

It is a good time to face them.
i have a bit of a interest in the weather, MOO! looking at the long range weather maps. a weak front is brushing under, DOUBLE -U-A next wednesday.with a warming trend on the cards towards the weekend of rnd1.energy sapping conditions are very likely.especially with a twilight bouncedown.humidity, increases sharply on dark.

Nicely played sir.

Spending time getting your tips bleached is not nearly the same as playing a a man's game.
Adelaide full of metrosexuals these days?

I'd be more happy knowing Freo could beat a side like Adelaide with all their best playing and in any conditions.....beating them without such and such, or, so and so has had a limited prep or the weather is just right, just gives the impression some folk here haven't got a clue if this 2010 Freo side is any good.....reading some of these above posts already appears to me some folk are grasping for straws already and not overly confident. What ever happened last year has been and gone, it has no relevance for what happens next week....because if it did, Harves might as well forfeit the Adelaide games every year.....

I'm confident we'll be mid-table this year but the fact that we've finished 14th the last two years makes it understandable that some people are setting the bar fairly low.

To be successful this year we should be beating Adelaide here (with their ommissions) and Essendon at the dome. I won't be surprised if we lose though because we still have some of the ghosts of freo past playing for us (older payers) and the younger guys are young!! I feel like the team is a bit like the England cricket team against Oz for so many years. Shellshocked by past events and struggling to move forward.

We will get pumped by the Crows.

Neill Craig is a top shelf coach - he will outsmart Harvey unfourtunately.

I predict a tough start to the season.

Ahh GJ, always good for the comedy side of things.

The same Neil Craig who got out coached by Mark Harvey in his first ever game as senior coach?

as for the last part, what led you to that conclusion? was it the fact that we play the Premiers, the runner up fremiers, and two top 8 teams all in the space of 4 weeks? your a genius mate, don't know how you come up with these great analytical insights all the time.....

With your talent for predictions would you be able to conjure up the Lotto numbers for the Saturday jackpot?

I look forward to knowing the numbers that I should NOT pick!

Props and Knights out will weaken our socring ability but I thnk it will be an error riddled low socring game aynway as they often are in round one. I think we have enough experience to get over the line though. If Bock can keep Pavlich relatiivley quiet and Tippett an play well we should be right.

Sandilands over Griffin will be a huge advantage for you blokes though.

Well if Bock cancel's out Pavlich we shall see how the Mayne/Ballantyne avenue to goal holds up.....

We can always deploy the secret weapon Murphy

Should be one of the best 1st round matches this year. I think it will be pretty ordinary in terms of skills, but I am looking for the Dockers to be aggressive, hungry and able to pull a few surprises given current playing levels of our young players. How will Hill and Morabito contribute? Can our midfield maximise Sandiland's advantage? Will the Forward line gell? Can our backline become an absolute WALL!

The Crows clear advantage is in the coaching department. They are disciplined as a team, and know what they are doing.

first game with a new coach teams almost always win. nothing to do with the coach.
However, it is still the same Neil Craig who gets outfoxed in showdowns and finals.
