Gonna open a can of worms and toss Plowman under a minibus.

One of the more common criticisms of him has been his awareness (or lack thereof) of the correct course of play at key moments in games.

Earlier in the season it was conservative backwards/sideways kicks in defence when we were less than a goal down with the clock running out.

This week - he takes a brilliant intercept mark coming out of defence with less than 2 mins on the clock, we're a few points up...and he opts for a long high kick to a contest down the ground, not quite close enough to the boundary line for us to have any chance to knock the ball out if required. Freo ended up winning the ball back there and rebounding through the corridor.

End of the day the result went our way - but I really hope the coaches do some work with Lachie on thinking through situations a bit more, particularly late in games/quarters.

Do you now ..
Don't you think that I should be the judge if he will be a star or Not??
Thought that was Thy's job, so i tried to undermine him.

Agree on this. Plow regularly brain farts it which ruins all of the great work he does behind the scenes. If he can clean this up he will be a premiership player one day.

Had a theory that we may actually go well with Cripps out of the side in some ways and that was right. There is no doubt we are too Cripps central and go to him all the time which makes it easy to pick us off. At least we had a more even effort and were less predictable. Something we can learn from in the future.

It made a difference playing a more team game in the midfield and removing a guy like Dow who is out of form and adding Silvagni who played well.

Walsh - He was great, really prolific and hard running as usual, the thing he needs to do is clean up his kicking. Start putting those goals through.

Murphy - He really stepped up, he was great. Bit of a blast from the past. Now if he can produce that most weeks that would be great.

Newman - Thought he was pretty solid without setting the world on fire. Been a good honest defender.

Ed Curnow - He was really good, better once we moved him off Fyfe who really had the better of him.

SPS - Started off slowly but really came into the game later and was damaging with his kicking.

Marchbank - Was one of our best, seems to have developed his body and is really playing some good football.

Casboult - Was back to the forward line and was useful.

Thomas - Played a really good game, his season has been excellent.

Kreuzer - Took advantage of a younger ruck and an injury, had a solid game and had an influence in the ruck.

Silvagni - wasn't playing well up forward but when shifted on the ball he was good. Some good clearances and did a good tagging job. I think when he gets fitter and stronger will be useful in that role.

Setterfield - fairly neat and tidy game. He's improving his game recently, starting to run a bit harder around the ground.

Gibbons - I liked his effort this week, it was better than the last game. Still could do more with his kicking.

Plowman - Was fairly good, slow start but he did his job.

Fisher - Seems down on form, I just feel he's not going in as hard as he could. Does some nice things but isn't in form right now.

O'Brien - He's doing a lot right and getting his hands on the footy but his kicking game was really poor which is unusual for him.

Simpson - Quiet game, did enough and did things well when it was his turn.

Kennedy - I liked his effort and he did a few things I really liked when he attacked the contest hard. Kicked a couple of goals and ended up playing a decent game.

Jones - He was really good, I just don't want to see him being reckless and taking his team mates out. Liked his intercepting.

Weitering - He did enough, he was solid. I really liked a few moments where he was physical, laid some solid body spoils, I've been saying it for a while that this is one of the areas he needs to improve, he needs to get rough.

McGovern - He's really out of form and his fitness doesn't seem to be great. It was another poor game and IMO he's getting a game on his name alone. Not far off the reserves if you ask me. Dropping marks and missed an easy goal doing something stupid.

Dow - Played forward in Cuningham's role. Kicked a nice goal and just missed one. Thought he was ok.

Curnow - Started well then was injured.
Nice summary. I thought Weibot was better than solid. His intercept marking was exceptional and he was precise with his disposal opportunities. He is in AA squad form.

Chose the best option and effectively nullified Walter's. Loved his game and is an important piece of our defense which is growing cohesively. Can't wait to see Doc in the mix too.

According to zeggie Teague has only just started the level 4 coaching course so we shouldn't get carried away...

Barker has completed it... let's get him in! What a world we live in eh.

Nice Straw Man.

Any other point of views you wish to shove down my mouth? What a world we live in eh.

I know the Blues have been devoid of wins for a long time, but giving him the gig so soon makes no sense when we have the rest of the year to analyse. Teague ain't going anywhere.

No straw man stuff here. You wrote it clear as day.

But I do agree, it's not the time to sign him up yet. Things are looking very positive though.

Took less than 24 hours for Plowman slander...

I'll take it.
Gee he busted a gut to try and stop that last goal of theirs. Has been a fine, fine player this year. Not sure whether this criticism was that he kicked it long or not quite boundary side enough. Just literally does my head in that rather than heap praise we have to find the most minor, minor criticism. Well done Plow you have done an excellent job this year in an extremely tough role.
