Unfortunately for Jacobs he is too similar to some of the players in the 1s to get a sustained run. Dumont might be in the same boat.

He's putting up the same sort of stats Cunnington did before he broke into the best 22.

No matter what one's opinion of Jacobs is, for this football club to move forward he must be selected next week. I am not just looking at today and the sub standard oppo, he has consistently worked hard and delivered results since his omission early season. The message must be delivered that strong VFL form will be rewarded and those not performing in the AFL must be shifted back to the VFL to work on their game and form.

Fantastic to hear about Jacobs ripping it up in the twos - it's been a while since the door was open and a player really stood up to take advantage and push into the seniors.

Greenwood was one of our best on Friday and kept us in the hunt and gave us a sniff in the last quarter.

Cunnington had a super start to the year and yes is in bad form atm, but cant drop him for a couple of poor performances, deserves a bad game or 2.

Ziebell is finding touch, he looked good against Geelong when we started moving the ball forward with pace.

Swallow is our captain and needs to find touch in the AFL, VFL form doesnt mean anything.

Cant play 5 slow inside mids in 1 team.

Half the problem with his time at Port was that they played him as a rebounding defender. He's an inside mid and needs to be played there.

I'd probably pick him over Swallow this week.

Swallow needs to go back and find some touch. I think because he can't cover the ground properly yet, he can't get any separation which means he is constantly under pressure which is leading to his fumbles.

Needs to go back and get confidence in his body.

Jacobs on those stats deserves a shot and not as sub.

Swallow is not match fit in both senses. It is completely understandable and not a dig at him in any sense of the word. As for Jack, I am not so convinced. I would like to see him floating forward more where his height and ability to mark makes a real matchup problem for teams.

Our midfield's performance in that first half was completely unacceptable. Where is the pressure for spots? If you leave a guy who is absolutely playing his ass off in the VFL and allow guys to turn up every second week in the AFL, a rot sets into the club. We gift free game passes, that is if your name is not Levi Greenwood.

can easily wear a sub vest, swap it around and makes the wearer need to show what they have when they gey thier chance

I'm no fan of Jacobs - never have been.

But something is seriously wrong when guys like McMahon and Wright get games for much less.
