Vossy will have the man power to challenge the cat's but will he have footy intelligence in the box to out coach his old premiership team mate 🤔
Sam Mitchell couldn't quite get it done for 120 minutes, sometimes wgt of numbers beats intelligence.
Massive game now that we've slipped into the 4 with the afl promoters dream match up coming up next week v the pies.

Voss is the easiest in the league to coach against.

Blue's are better than Ladder position suggests
Lost by 3 Goals to Hawks and Pies, a kick to Dogs.
Big wins v Wet Toast and Noorf = return to form
Blues will be boosted by 63 point win last meeting.
Due to dominant mid's against depleted Cats mid's
Things will be different with Cats midfield in form

Outcome depends on Cats being mentally keen.
6 Day Break and Flat after Huge rival game win
If cats show up ready to play: Positive outcome
Must stay in the game for Blues 2nd half fades
Maintain pressure and Blues tend to bomb long
Cats advantage is rebounding from turnovers
Midfield linking ability from Miers will be missed
Excitement machine Wiltshire makes his debut.
Hoping to see a play to shout Ollie Ollie Ollie..
Oi! Oi! Oi!

cat yes yes yes.gif

Watching VFL live stream Cats v Blues
Thought Cats had more depth.. mmmm
Seems better kids now AFL emergencies
Still quite a few AFL listed kids out injured
Huge drop of in playing standard by fill-in's
Clohesy's AFL stint makes him a cut above

Our VFL team at the moment really is a VFL team - we've only got 7 current AFL players out there today with Kolodjashnij & Clohesy the only ones with senior experience

Right now, our depth is in the senior side; it'll be as players start to return from injury that we'll start to see more AFL players in the VFL

We have a really tough four weeks of footy ahead of us starting today, so getting a win here while the Blues are down a bit is going to be vital to remaining near the top of the ladder. I'm really looking forward to seeing Wiltshire play. The biggest factor, as always, is the attitude of the players going into this game. If they hit the park a bit flat after the epic game last Monday, the Blues will take advantage of that. But this is true of every game, really. Got everything crossed for the guys today. Go Cats.

Our main midfielders this season are Smith, Holmes and Atkins. I'd hardly call them out of form.

... can we count Kreuger? ;)

And of those other AFL-listed players, they are either first-years or in the case of Pike, a "project player" ruckman.

I was quite bullish v Crows and Hawks but am not feeling the same way today.

At 2-4, Carlton are essentially playing for their season and we're coming off a finals-like game and a six day break. We've seen the impact a short break can have in the last quarter fade-outs of Crows (v us) and Lions (v Pies).

I still think we're a midfielder or two short when it comes to facing the deeper midfields - maybe we can combat that with more time in the middle for Danger, or maybe Jhye inches towards that breakout game.

Carlton won the clearances and centre clearances in their losses v Hawks, Dogs and Pies so even when they're down, they aren't struggling for opportunities.

I think our best shot is to get them on the slingshot which is how we beat them early last season, but Miers is a significant out in that sense. We will need all of Dempsey, Mannagh, Stengle and Close to be up and about.

A win here would be enormous so fingers crossed we can find a way.
Yes, Danger in the middle to win some CCs, especially if we’re struggling, but mostly forward.

He’s in terrific form + set shots have improved. Still, we need to ensure he’s fit for the pointy end.
