If there are enough of us who are genuinely passionate about stopping the cancerous rot from driving our beloved club into the ground, we should force an AGM.

All we need is 100 ordinary members who are entitled to vote at the AGM to request that a Director call the meeting.

Sounds simple enough....not sure 100 will be too much of a struggle.
 
Our board is just so ridiculously dysfunctional. They seemingly to want all the fans to get behind the club and reach 50,000 members but all this leaked information doesn't exactly make joining the club as a member all that appealing. And now, the man who was getting the job done, Rogers, is now looking elsewhere not that I blame him. Just f***ing power hungry idiots, makes us as a club look the opposite of #UNITED and if the recruiting turns to shit because Rogers leaves we're going to end up back in the same place we were pre-Rogers.

Also how do people know it was Mathieson? Was his name in all the papers about it? Not saying it wasn't him, but just couldn't remember reading about it and once his name was mentioned here everyone started laying into him.

What is the criteria of being entitled to vote?

I'm in if I qualify.
 
I'm all for a restructure and vastly more resources within our Recruiting Department but it did not include Rodgers walking out of the place now.

I'm guessing the approach to Wright has not sat well with him and why would it ?? He was being white-anted by a rogue board-member which is very unprofessional especially if he wasn't informed and part of the bigger picture.

It might be easy to organise an Extraordinary AGM but it won't amount to much if you don't have a rival ticket ready to stand up to the existing board and that is a very difficult equation to manage.

I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, just be mindful of what you are trying to achieve by calling the meeting. Getting some shat off members in a room to have a vent to the powerbrokers isn't going to help us, putting an all-new board in front of them with a definite challenge to their mantle certainly will.

Having the numbers to support that changeover is important too !!

The rogue board member who approached Wright was our future president, Mark LoGuiduce, with the backing and support of Bruce Mathieson... if you are to believe Caro.

If you are headhunting someone, you never let them know who the organisation is that they will ultimately be working for until negotiations have progressed passed the 'We have a client looking for someone with your skillset. Would you be interested in having a chat with us about possibly having a meeting with them?'.

You approach them through a third party that is neutrally aligned and who have instructions to only reveal the organisation doing the headhunting at the appropriate time. You do not go blundering in trampling all over the tulips.

Besides... I have worked for BMG in the past... they ****ed up my back, then sacked me because of it and pushed me into computing.

Not a member, but I'm with you guys in spirit.

This whole scenario is reminding me of the "New Magpies" in the '80s, who took over Collingwood Football Club to shake them up and get them into the "modern age". The things they were doing didn't go down well and they didn't last long, but they'd pissed off a lot of fans and set their club back a few years by the time a rival faction overthrew them.

This looks like something that needs to be nipped in the bud. There is a knee-jerk, baby out with bathwater kind of aura around recent developments which is the last thing we need right now.

I'm with Jeremias here, if it happens, it will just keep happening to everyone at Carlton that Mathieson takes a dislike to. I'll walk away.

In a few months loGiodice has done more to overhaul the recruiting dept than kernahan did in years, and no changes have even be made!

I for one am pleased to finally see the aggression back and a president that is willing to make moves instead of sitting on his hands.

Of course there will be leaks, we are in the middle of a handover, and a reluctant president and CEO being moved on...
 
This is completely ridiculous if true. I dont mind him going out and trying to poach the best...but to do it in such a cack handed way that you piss off your current employee is unforgivable. How do these blokes actually succeed in the business world?

If you think this is a sign of "aggression" I think you've grossly misjudged the situation. Similarly, if you think change for the sake of change is a step in the positive direction I'd suggest you're having a laugh.

No, this isn't aggression. This is a group of power hungry pricks who don't care if they burn the club to the ground as long as they end up on top.

You don't support mediocrity on the field - so why accept it at a board level?

Accepting that there will be leaks is simply pathetic. To do so is simply allowing for the exoneration of the current board members who are not doing what they ought to be doing. We've seen leaks coming from our club at a board level for as long as I care to remember.

We've had two major leaks come out of the club over the past fortnight. How often do you see other clubs in the media for the leaks coming out of their board?

Good clubs don't allow that sort of thing to happen. We're a train wreck off the field and these idiots currently at the helm aren't doing anything to rectify that - in fact they're digging a deeper hole.
