I love the Rockstar games. So my strategy was be like a serial killer in the bush but try and keep a lowish profile in town. It's not really working out for me. Every time i say to myself "stay out of trouble, just go to the butcher, get some money" then some mofo starts up shit and then blammo, another ****ing bounty on my head.
Game starts off on a nice slow burn but the pace picks up quick enough. It really is about the journey and I love the moral code and how your decision making impacts the game. I have killed a lot of stuff and I'm only 15% through the game. I love it.

Tbf Witcher 3 is pretty old now. It's not really like they didn't go as hard as they could at the time. Cyberpunk looks like it's going to be pretty ******* amazing as far as environments go.

Not just environments, or scale, but content too. Witcher 3 was the most time I spent in a game since before I lost my Skyrim saves. But RDR 2 almost makes Witcher 3 feel slight and empty in comparison.

Hopefully Cyberpunk is the next step up in immersion.

Finally killed that Legendary Buck to get the talisman so that you get better quality skins. For some reason I'd either get the 'too much activity' message or there'd be no sign of the bastard. Did manage to clear two camps worth of O'Driscolls in the process though

Loving it but I do wonder how much longevity it will have for me, I can see having to do literally every little thing day in day out getting to be a bit of a grind. Wish there was a walking speed between flat-out sprint and slower-than-my-dad walk. Wish you could move a little faster in while in camp and buildings also.

Having said that, game is insane. Mind blowing how they've animated every single thing - the entirety of poker and other mini games, people jumping onto your horse or wagon, looting, inventory management. Its amazing.

Cheers, thanks for the feedback I press R2 slowly and when told to hold R2 after the gauge fills up nothing happen no draw and it's all over, might try a different controller and see what happens.

Not sure if you're still having trouble, but are you fully releasing R2 once you've filled the meter and squeezed? I had similar issues getting used to it, but once I started releasing R2 after filling the meter, then aim and shoot normally, it seemed to work.

Donating the meat keeps the peeps happy cos they have food. Your actions directly effect the entire camp. Also the skins (if you skin an animal) go towards upgrading the camp should they be perfect skins. It's a lot of work for not a great deal in return.

A hell of a lot of work.

Anyone know what happens if the camp runs low/out of food? Is there actually any negative that it would be better to avoid gameplay-wise or do NPCs just whinge at you?

All the GTA V protags were lamer than anything they've done in the last ten years. Arthur is streets ahead of them.

Sacrilege. Trevor is a national treasure.

So frustrating when you miss out on cool shit because you die. Came across a carriage getting robbed and before I could do anything I got gunned down.

You die so easy and a lot of the time you can’t avoid it.

This is why I learned that if I have valuable cargo like three star skins then I won’t take any roads. Just be careful not to hit a tree or go over a cliff :$

I tried to free the guy under the gun shop in Rhodes but instead of holding up the gunsmith I ****en shot him accidentally, and I couldn't open the damn door with a tomahawk or even dynamite. Then a bunch of Grey's run in and I had to execute all of them, and that was it. No more heat. Was weird. I'm hoping I can go back later and free the poor little gimp

Only issues I’ve had so far are some character model bugs like the one I posted earlier when playing dominos. I’ve had Arthur’s arm spaz out and a few times NPCs have loaded in their t-pose and took a while to do anything. Nothing game breaking but definitely a little rough and unexpected from a Rockstar release. Probably just some evidence of the stressful development period.

I spent an entire 5 hour session with a horse brush inexplicably stuck to my hand last night. Made for some great cutscenes, although reading and playing poker were slightly difficult

I keep accidentally getting myself into gun fights because I don’t realise that I have a gun in my hand and point it at someone when I’m pushing L2 to interact with them.

Of the beaten track find a guy camping invites me to sit by the fire. Ok I'll rest by the fire and see where this goes. Go to sit and sit in his lap doesn't like it..( I guess he doesn't swing that way) he pulls out his gun... and had to kill him... some of the people are a bit quick to anger.

Anyone get really fat or thin yet?

This is why I think the game holsters your weapons on your horse for you. A lot of complaints about that, but you honestly don't need anything more than a revolver on you most of the time, and I always holster that when I don't need it.

Haven't read through all this thread yet (avoiding spoilers).

After about 5 hours of playtime I am hooked big time.

I'm in chapter 2, and have just spent the last hour or two simply roaming the countryside on my horse, mostly with binoculars in hand. Every now and then I'll hunt something, or pick a new/old plant, or simply just study an animal at a distance.
It's incredibly immersive!

So there I was just admiring the scenery, when I stumbled into an O'Driscoll camp, wielding nothing but my binoculars.
What a shock! I barely escaped with my life.
I didn't stumble in when I came back....I was death incarnate. I hate the O'Driscoll's!!!

The visuals. The story. The gameplay. The customization. The characters. The immersion. Oh my Lord.
I've barely scraped the surface, but this has the potential to be one of the greatest games of all time.
