Couple of changes to our next Ryobi Cup game...

In: Haberfield, Doropoulos
Out: Putland, Ludeman

Putland is out for four weeks with a hamstring, huge blow considering how good he has been this season so far.

interesting to see trent kelly named. he was all the rage in the underage groups in the early part of last decade.

I don't get the selection of Kelly to be honest.

Think we'd be much better off sticking with Joe Mennie or Jake Haberfield, or even getting games into Elliot Opie and Mick Delaney. Haberfield took 5 in the Futures League game, so chances are will just come in next week anyway. Seems pointless giving someone like Kelly a game.

I'd play Sayers over all the blokes you've mentioned, give him a run and he'll be a solid bowler for SA. Potentially turn into a Ryan Harris. Mennie will probably hang around a season or two and go home or to WA.

SACA selections are terrible as usual.

Mediocrity continues, so do their charmed run in the media. If port or crows had such a poor run they would be smashed. With the red backs people just shrug their shoulders, there isn't enough accountability

I wonder when questions will be asked.

No thread for SA/QLD??

Great performance by SA, bowled very well, especially Christian but...that was without doubt one of the worst displays of batting by Queensland that I’ve seen. Talk about a lack of discipline, geez! I counted 7 of the 10 dismissals were by batsmen throwing away their wicket! Dunk must have been fed up waiting for a teammate to put a value on their wicket, because he eventually threw his away too, but he made a good 50.

Anyway great stuff SA, fantastic result to claim the bonus point, gets us right up there in the standings. Good crowd tonight I thought, got cold as per usual. Klinger is a legend, fantastic knock by the skipper! :thumbsu:

Will raise you the first innings in Cape Town ;)

But great to be back on the winners list:thumbsu: Keen to get down to the Shield over the weekend.

What's wrong with Ferguson? He's 27 this season and is basically killing his chance of an International career. Two runs as vice-captain doesn't cut it.

do like moving klinger from opener....just a shame you don't have an opener to replace him with

Bit harsh on the first gamer? :p

230 runs opening the batting in a Futures Cup game isn't too bad. Maybe not the greatest grade record ever, but at least we're giving a new guy a chance. Who knows, he might run with it.

Having said that though, I'd still like to see Tom Cooper make the move back to the top of the order. Probably wont happen now that he is making runs, but he always looked good there.

Dan Christian - Very underrated season. Two hundreds and a 96 so far. Averaging above 60 in the Sheffield Shield.

108 and 49 in this match has continued his good form, not to mention his three wickets so far. Would he be too old for national selection? Same age as Warriors opener Liam Davis who you'd also think may get a run at the top level.
