Oh and they seem to be digging up parts of the MCG oval at Lathlain. An area in front of the goal square has been cleared (and it looks like they're letting the grass die too).
Good timing with preseason training for the 1st - 4th years due to start Monday

A legit whopper cup when we play the crows would be hilarious

The deuce?

West Coast superstar Hungry Jack’s has agreed to join Adelaide on a four-year deal, effective immediately.
The Crows have been in ongoing discussions with West Coast and can today confirm a deal has been finalised.
Hungry Jack’s will line-up down back - of the guernsey - in every match as the Club’s new Principal Partner.

Had to do a double take on that - thought it was a send-up at first, turns out it is legit - just bizarre all round.

At least now we know what Vozzo has been up to whilst taking time away from the club.

Hungry Jack's now to unveil a burger pie in time for the draft at O'Brien's insistence.

The Gracetown General Store does an outstanding cheeseburger pie. It is a whole burger patty in with cheese with pickles and mustard inside a full piecrust. Best post-surf snack in WA (the gravy chips at the Lano petrol station are second for those playing at home).

Also, McDonald's should now sponsor Port so they can play in Hamburglar inspired prison bar stripes.

Freo are clearly Grimace.

Odds on Gov now requests a trade to Adelaide.

He'll take a pay cut if it means he gets to be in the whopper ads.

Do Carlton not understand how the draft works? You get as many picks as you like you tanking campaigners, they just end up being at the end of the draft. *en spoilt losers expecting additional first round selections after being babied for the past 20 years for being dog s**t.

End rant.

I'm sure they asked for a high compo pick, which was rightfully denied.

But, from reading the article, it looks like Jones for whatever reason can't be 'retired' or placed 'inactive' prior to the draft/s - so they have to replace him in the SSP. In that sense their request was reasonable - can they take pick 100 in the draft, or a pick in the PSD or a rookie draft pick to replace the player. (the answer was no, but that aspect of it seems a reasonable concession).

In one of the rare instances of foresight, the AFL knocked it back as it would be an unlevel playing field if they gave them a pick in the PSD, rookie or national draft.

Reason being there could well be other clubs who are in the same situation as Carlton are with Jones, if it happens after those drafts than the only avenue they have to replace the player would be the supplemental draft.

So if they make the ruling early it's the supplemental draft to replace players who choose to retire de to the vaxx policy, it's the same conditions for everyone.
