I can't really get behind GWS. The fake franchise club that still benifits from AFL subsidised handouts.
I don’t have any issues with GWS. There is a term in law called ‘Positivism’ which means the law is what it is. It doesn’t make it right or wrong. Just accept it and move on.

GWS and Gold Coast have been formed so just deal with it. GWS are the most talented team in the competition and as I live in Sydney, and I hate all Victorian teams, I hope they win the premiership.

I didnt think the incident itself warranted a suspension however he did it last week and apparently didnt learn his lesson so I'm happy that he got a week.

Had NN thrown another bloke into the fence a couple nights ago he'd have gotten a week too.

I haven't seen each incident properly to say whether it was gouging or other, but was pretty silly to do it again.

Whoever wins out of GWS or Collingwood is who I would prefer to win the flag. Prefer a non Victorian side to win it, however Collingwood supporters in general last year were very gracious in defeat so would not begrudge them winning it. Please not either of Richmond or Geelong.

I reckon Brisbane will fall out of the top 4 next year. You see it sometimes with a team that jumps up 'early' that they have a bit of a lull the next year. Their run with injuries and the fixture was about as good as you could ever hope for.

Still think they'll win a flag in the next 5 years though.

Just had a look at the stats, they reminded me a bit of the late 90s Brisbane team. They finished last in 1998 and 3rd in 1999. Jumped right up the ladder and made a prelim*. In 2000 they dropped down to 6th and got belted in a semi final, but then won the next 3 flags.

* Incidentally it reminded me how blood-boilingly unfair the finals systems used to be for non-Victorian teams (even moreso than now). You can see the finals here https://afltables.com/afl/seas/1999.html#fin

-So we finished 5th, and played 4th placed Bulldogs away. In those years it was 1v8, 2v7 etc.
-We beat the Bulldogs at the MCG
-Brisbane (3rd) beats Carlton (6th) by 73 points.
-Carlton hosts us in week 2 and beats us. A team that finished below us on the ladder and lost their first final by 12 goals! Brisbane hosted a semi and they had to have one game each week at the MCG because the VFL is still alive and well.
-Carlton goes on to beat Essendon in the prelim in the famous 1 point game
-While the prelim is an all time upset, it led to a completely one sided Grand Final win to the Kangaroos. If we'd rightly played in the prelim either us or Essendon would have played the Kangaroos (almost certainly Essendon). But either way Kangaroos v Eagles and Kangaroos v Bombers were 2 Grand Final matchups that the league deserved to see in that era and never got. Eagles v Kangaroos were the 2 teams of the decade, we dominated in the first half and them in the second half. And Essendon were the dominant team of 99-01 and only came away with one flag.
-And if you're upset about us not making the most of our opportunities, which I think is a bit unfair, imagine being Essendon and finishing top of the ladder 3 years straight, including the most dominant season ever in the VFL/AFL, and only winning 1 flag? And as a Victorian team too? What a failure. But Essendon deserve every heartbreak that comes their way so you shouldn't feel bad for them.

There's no way he deserves a week for that.

It's not about the single act, last week was a warning to him to pull his head in and instead he goes and does the same thing again?

The guy is mentally deficient and doesn't learn his lessons.

That was our “home final” remember? The second time in 3 years that we were stuffed over by the VFL. Twas a harsh slap in the face for a young boy of 12, learning how biased this ‘competition’ is 🤬😢

It is about the single act. You should only be judged on the specific incident. Christian is a knob.
