I'm actually here because I couldn't believe what I was hearing about how salty you lot are.

We had such good times together between the 2018 GF and the build up to Round 22 😢
No one is criticizing the Tigers, all of this BS is directed at the AFL. Shame I really want to congratulate the whole club but its hard when there is such a huge bias.

In 2019 they deserved the flag, best team in September overall, but let's not pretend they had a harder time than the interstate clubs thanks.

Maybe just leave it at that then?

Let's not pretend we'd even be having this argument if your team hadn't lost in Round 23.

Wouldn't be having this conversation if it hadn't rained in round 22 either ;)

Yet plenty of people called out the bias scheduling when the fixtures were released last year (same as 2017). Also the money grab of having to have a home final in Melb (Geelong are pussies and cave each time), the shenanigans of mid year draft not to mention the 2057 MCG fix. Good luck to you but lets hope an interstate side get a cozy run soon just to even things up a bit.

Well no shit.

But there is plenty of evidence of main board Tigers posters playing the victim with their 'omg we travelled so much in first half of the year!' and 'MCG is neutral for everyone!' excuses. Any claim that the fixture for Victorian clubs is harder than for non-Victorian clubs does not withstand scrutiny.

Look Richmond were a good side this year and they could only play who was in front of them in the GF, so props there. But do they finish inside the Top 4 if they have to play 3-4 of their last 7 games outside of the 'G, especially against GWS/Eagles/Brisbane? History says probably not and that will always be the little niggle at the back of the mind when talking about 2019. No matter which way you slice it the AFL certainly gave the 2018 minor premier a questionable leg up at the most critical time of the year. I think you guys know that and that's why we're seeing Tiger fans commenting on it in the offseason threads on other teams boards.

At any rate, go enjoy being premiers. If the AFL have an ounce of integrity they'll square up your fixture next year with a few trips to Optus/ Kardinya/ wherever the f*ck GWS plays and we'll find out one way or the other.

Ahh yes the Hawks are our bogey side and probably one of the few Vic teams that could beat us at Optus stadium.. So the good old AFL by some quirky fixtures Wce get to play twice in 6 weeks..

They definately have a mental edge on us. Ever since that lost GF we have struggled against them regardless of ladder position.

We beat them twice - away - in the past two seasons so I don't know what you're on about there.

They should of beaten us the 1st game this year but didn't kick straight. They did in r23 and you saw what happened.

Considering we were pushing for top 2 and they are missing finals its pretty awful.

If we were to play them next week for some reason I reckon its 50/50 at best.

Amazing. Ironically picks 16 and 20 weren’t capitalised on by Hawthorn.

They could have set themselves up even stronger if they took the two who were taken directly after those (Kelly instead of Ladson and Maguire instead of Elstone)

Also interesting how widely tipped Ball seemed to be as the #1 pick at the time.

Made up for it with pick 36 though which was part of that trade.

Ball gets a little maligned, but still managed 200+ games, a flag, a b&f and an AA jumper. It's just the 2 guys who picked either side were future hall of gamers.

Yeah I’m not maligning him, more that I didn’t realise how unanimous it was at the time, given who else was available

For an NBA analogy, Luke Ball is the Sam Bowie of that draft

Kochie calls out the AFL for being too Vic centric

He's got a point though, if the AFL is supposed to be a neutral game why was the Tigers roar and graphic played after every goal? The arguement for keeping the grand final at the G is it's supposed to be a neutral venue.

I'm pretty sure last year when the Eagles kicked a goal in the Grand Final they showed the same 'Goal' video on the big screens that they do at Optus Stadium?
Maybe it's just whomever is the 'Home' team, which Richmond were as they finished higher.

This really gets under my skin, why is it when high profile people notice the bias they never actually get to the meat of the issue. While he has a point regarding the big screen why did he not raise the blatant bias in scheduling which revolved around travel, which is undeniably a factor in performance esp at the pointy end of the season. This can only go on for so long before everyone has to take notice.

VFL dont care. If the shoe was on the other foot we’d hear about it pretty quickly.

One thing that can be done immediately is GWS/Syd, GC/BL, PA/ADE WC/CB should all play derbies as the second last or last round of the season to minimise late season travel.
