For most people that would be true, however my own personal experience has encountered many such individuals who have an emotional pathology which prevents them from taking even the very slightest level of responsibility for their mistakes.

Unfortunately I can also attest that the highest levels of government and business in this country are full of these types of people.

They've only paid 95% of their salary cap for years (as they didn't have enough good players to use it all up), so have banked it with a specific strategy of targeting free agents. It is quite clever and is exactly what the system was designed to allow.

I still think they will be average next year though. Their KPP stocks are not amazing.

It simply means a government should not be able to arrest and prosecute you for expressing something that is not against the law.

And what is the consequence to his views? He is entitled to say it and shouldn't have to apologise in order to preserve his career. His comments are not at a level in which he should be chastised and treated like a neo nazi.

The consequence of his views and his statements is that people question how he is supposed to be mayor of the city/represent the community. He didn't have to apologise, it was just in his best interest if he any intention of being the mayor or maintaining his media gigs.

In terms of the new world, more people than ever are allowed to express themselves and not hide who they really are, if anything there is less sheep than ever. It's just that the people that have previously made it difficult for others are now being told to pipe down and then cry about it.

Having a kid be comfortable being transgender is anything but falling in line and being a sheep.

If I worked for Apple and I made a post on Facebook badmouthing Apple, I may reasonably expect consequences such as termination. If I called my neighbour a pedophile without any proof and it resulted in a loss of his reputation, he would be entitled to sue me for damages. If I was an elected representative and made a post that portions of my electorate found unpalatable, I may expect retribution via the courts or the ballot box.

It's really not a difficult line of reasoning here.

People are literally being labelled people as racists, xenophobes, homophobes, islamophobes, for simply disagreeing with someone.

My point isn't about gender orientation having a political bias.

My point is that he made the comment and retracted it, like the thousands of other celebrities/people known in the media who have done or said things, both past and present and made to apologise.
