Seems to be 2 types of Freo supporters going around at the moment - those calling for blood and those still in denial about the Hogan shitshow.

Really puts our club's problems in perspective, eh?

Here we all are bitching about finishing 5th on percentage again and lamenting what could have been, whilst simultaneously picking up a promising young lad for draft peanuts.

Meanwhile, down the road:

2018
Neale + 11 + 23 + 30 for Hogan + Lobb + 14 + 43 + 47 + 55 + 65

2020
Hogan for 54 aka Z.Langdon

Looking at 2018, and combining the Neale/Hogan/Lobb deals...WTF Freo hahahaha
Gave up the better picks AND the better player.
Also pick 6 was theirs for a while, turned out to be some scrub called Ben King

Then top it off they take a token pick from us for the great white hope 2 years later. Just delicious.

all the luck

Is Peter Bell going to come out and say sorry for the ****-up? That campaigner campaigned so hard for the Hogan show. Strutted around town like the mayor of Perth when he got that deal done.

Yeah Hardie reported it on 6pr a few days after it happened, but just said something along the lines of “a player who’s playing for his future, was asked to leave the B & F of one of the WA sides” left it at that. Everyone knew he was talking about Hogan, but weirdly, that’s all I ever heard about it?? You’d think the media would’ve been all over it??
I think they were looking out for his wellbeing. Might have learnt a bit from what happened with Cousins and Yarran.

Just Blakey left now
You'd hope so, but I have a feeling Blakely is gonna stay. He seems to at least wanna be at the club and fight for his place, so if nobody gives an offer you'd think he'll stay. Honestly just glad the Hogan deal is done, nothing great given back to us but this outcome is a big positive for us. We're supposed to be building a culture here and we've gotten rid of all the culprits of guys who don't give a toss. I still think Hogan goes off the rails next year had he stayed with us unfortunately, although I wouldn't be surprised if it happens in NSW, hope it doesn't though.

It's said if you turn hogan upside down, he acts as a cocaine shaker.

Why do people think hogan was the culture problem...? He only joined the club in 2019. The issues were already in full swing. I think Hogan was fine until he joined freo tbh.
You are correct the Jetty Lickers have had a Culture issue for ages its just a lot of it gets covered up by the media. Hogan had an issue already when in Melbourne it just got worse when he joined Shitmantle

It's more the fact that he lacked any professionalism at his time with the club, set a bad example for the young kids, lowers team morale, and just doesn't give a **** about getting onto the field. He wasn't "the" culture problem, but he most definitely contributed to the bad culture, which is now gone with Hogan packing.

Yeah I like to bag Freo as much as anybody, but it’s a bit rich to claim Hogans problem started at Freo. He had a reputation for years at Melbourne, and was clearly well into that lifestyle before he came back to Perth. He just got more attention over here, not only because it’s a 2 teams town, but also the fact he’s a big name recruit and couldn’t hide amongst the other 9 teams like he could in Victoria.

Lol at the BODE's thinking GWS would let cameron go on compassionate grounds.

Yeh like how you ****ers let tim kelly go when he had genuine compassionate grounds you ****wits.

While thats true, the problems didn't start at Fremantle.

However a couple of question that should be raised regarding Fremantle's desire to land a big fish.

Did Fremantle do adequate due diligence on Hogan ? The street talk was pretty loud.

Did it not occur to them that Melbourne were way to quick' eager and happy to accommodate a trade ? Did it fall under the category " to good to be true" ?

No, no, no. You dont understand.

When a player wants to move to a Vic club, the welfare of both the player and their struggling family is a top priority. Your piddling interstate club isnt standing in the way of player welfare, are they? Gee that would make you look like sh*t blokes.

When players want to move away from a Vic club, F*CK YOU HE'S WORTH 2 FIRSTS AND A FUTURE SECOND AND HE'S NOT EVEN THAT GOOD ANYWAY!!!

I can see how you made that mistake.

As much as i like to take the piss outta Freo and their trading history i think they have made the right move, sometimes you just gotta cut your loses especially when trying to establish a new brand and culture. A well established brand may be able to deal with a few dick heads a new one not so much.

Think the writing is on the wall for Blakely dont know if it is his football or attitude but the coach definitely doesn't like something about him.

Pretty happy with our deal for Hogan, means we've now finally cleaned out the main four contributors to the toxic culture (Hogan, McCarthy, Matera, Carter)
Jeez

You've changed your tune from last week.

"Gonna be honest I think our list management are real brain dead trading Hogan, we're supposedly only getting a pick in the 40s too.
Dumb ******* move, we're gonna regret this me thinks".

If nobody makes an offer, of course he'll stay.

What do you think he'd do?

Got to say I appreciate your contribution to this board. Nice to have a sensible opinion from a Freo perspective.
FWIW I think Freo are at least starting to set a foundation they can build on.

I take your insights at face value, but culture starts at the top and that is where change must be made.
