Freo were clearly the better team. The boys nearly did it up against all odds. Chances were there, we didn't take them. Carlton can get f’ed, they are a terrible football team who are where they deserve to be, unfortunately so are we. Need to be more clinical, and need to fix these slow starts. Defence and midfield good, forward line still needs a lot of work.

Tackling. I'm willing to bet none of these players have been taught to tackle. Get a rugby coach in to teach them how. If they seriously can't wrap up a bloke 30cm away from them, then get the fu** off the field.

The 3rd quarter cost us. The fact that we could dominate so much and come away with 4.7 is a disgrace. The game should have been over at 3/4 time.

Henry in that 3rd was a joke. 2 absolute shocking misses and one he should have run straight in and kicked from 10cm out. Instead he tried to dribble it around the corner. One of the leaders should have blasted him for it.

The mids need to learn how to kick to a lead. Lobb and Treacy had no chance tonight with the delivery.

Fyfe and Mundy were invisible in the last. Where were they when we needed our leaders to stand up?

Serong is not a tagger. He absolutely tore it up once he was allowed to play. Just let him play.

Mark duffield says on his podcast regularly that west coast practice their goal kicking craft relentlessly while Fremantle dont.

No one in the AFL respects us and why would they with performances like that?
The goal kicking is just horrendous. Small forwards as a group are so limited. We have no small forward that would any side outside the bottom 6.
They just panic and turn to absolute sh*t in front of goals. Countless examples tonight. The henry set shot from 20m out straight in front we we needed to get off the mark so badly.
His dribble kick from 10 m out in the third quarter.
The Colyer set shot in the third term when we were ahead.
Cerra set shot miss from 25 m out directly in front.
Schultz - to allow that ball to be touched in the first half for the goal that was called back was unforgivable. Had ample time to kick the goal. You don’t get 3 seconds to steady yourself in open play at AFL level in that situation. Eddie Betts would kick that 100 times out of 100 even as a 35 year old.
There was an even worse soccer off the ground miss from schultz in the last quarter from about 4 m out directly in front.
Switta tried hard too but himself and Schultz are so limited. Swittas disposal by foot is just not going to cut it in a proper finals side.
As along as this club goes out there and leaves 35 odd points a game behind them purely though incompetence in front of goals, we cannot be taken seriously.
Simple as that.

All I know is I need to get some more hobbies. My dependence on football and Fremantle is really taking its toll on my mental health . Makes me miserable to my family and even my dog is ashamed of my behaviour during the game. I need to find something else to get enjoyment from.

I’m not the smartest bloke going, but one thing Bosses have told me many times is that I have strong resilience.

How did this come about? Rough childhood - no. Being a grinder - no… it came from supporting this f*n club over the past 25 years. The club has a special was of torturing us.

I am going through a rough divorce at the moment. That is a walk in a park compared to watching Freo this year.

Freo with all the momentum stopping to go sideways for a switch that isn't there and then stuffing it up anyway with horrendous disposal and kicking for goal is peak little brother. They're still trying to be like us (and failing) even when everyone knows our gameplan is out of date.

Watching Port, Brisbane and Geelong brush teams aside is depressing given we’ve been in positions to do that against the same sides and just haven’t run out the game. Pound for pound we’re about on their level as shown by us being in control of 90% of our games against lower opposition and going toe to toe with the teams above for the majority of a game.

We just can’t seem to sustain it for whatever reason and it continues to be extremely frustrating. There needs to be some accountability in the playing group. Do you want to win or are you happy collecting your salary and fighting it out for the bottom of the 8 every year?

Have Freo singlehandedly kept Richmond’s slim finals hopes alive?

Have you seen Freo’s run home?Hawthorn next week, in Tassie. Then Geelong, Sydney, Richmond, Brisbane, Us and St Kilda. Tough back end, and would have had to have won 4 out of that regardless of the result tonight. IMO I see 2-3. Tonight’s loss just made it that little bit harder.

GWS will keep Richmond out of the 8, not Freo. But they are less trustworthy than us. They thumped the dees in the middle today and really deserved the win today. But they are just as likely to lose to the Gold Coast next week.
