A bit more than decent ratings in bioemedicine lately at Flinders![]()
I can say first hand their MD program stinks and is a complete embarrassment.

Dunno about that. Are you sure a degree doesn't have some intrinsic value on its own?
For example, a medical degree from Cambridge or MIT is worth a lot, even if you don't use it

any chance of the thread staying on topicWell, obviously. Perhaps I should have said "how much it's worth to you" rather than simply "how much it's worth"
If you don't use it, it's not really worth anything to you. But yes, I take your point.

Apparently he chose biomedicine rather than medicine at Melbourne so as to not take too much time from his footy. Seems to be footy focused at the moment.any chance of the thread staying on topic![]()

I think as a rookie there's even more reason for him to be studying. Very low job prospects on the whole. We have a solid track record with records but the majority fail. These kids should be constantly thinking of their life after footy if they're smart.

Adelaide uni gave me two degrees so it can't be that prestigious!Being in the same ballpark doesn't mean you're equally good. It means your name can be mentioned in the same sentence without getting strange looks
I'm well aware that despite being a member of the group of 8 Universities, Adelaide is a distant 8th on that list while Melbourne is 1st. However both Adelaide and Melbourne are what I would term "prestigious" Universities in an international sense. That's what I meant by being in the same ballpark. I definitely woudn't classify Adelaide Uni as "average".
Obviously it's a downgrade in absolute terms to turn down Melbourne Uni in order to go pretty much anywhere else in Australia.
I don't know about that ....i have always found you very intelligentAdelaide uni gave me two degrees so it can't be that prestigious!
Are you calling him a liar?I don't know about that ....i have always found you very intelligent![]()
Anyone else find it really strange that this guy joined bigfooty, made this one post and is likely to never return? I guess now there will be the mystery on why Mr. Mojorisin wasn't a fan of picking O'Brien in the rookie draft.not sure about this pick tbh
Agreed, and I won't be overly surprised if he's upgraded before that....he's a keeper IMO.Will be very surprised if he isn't retained at the end of the year...
Has Knightmare posted his thoughts on Reilly O'Brien anywhere recently?
Would also love to hear his thoughts on our newly promoted rookie, Jake Kelly. The Bull.
Thanks for the write up Knightmare. With Kelly, would you regard his footspeed as below or above average?O'Brien was a handy overager for Calder last year and was a pretty good performer really these past couple of seasons. He is as I'm sure you're all noticing athletic for a guy standing at 2m, and he also has excellent versatility with his ability to play ruck, forward or back pretty well. It has been hard with lots of good rucks on that Calder team for him to get minutes, which kept him last year mostly back and the year before mostly forward, but his ruckwork is better than I expected for this early stage. He showed some pretty good signs during the NAB Challenge so it will be interesting to see whether he can in time secure a position in Adelaide's best 22. But early signs suggest he certainly has a shot.
Kelly has progressed well since joining Adelaide and his progress is a credit to his work ethic. He has always been an excellent endurance runner and has a hard edge to him so to see him get a senior game in an Adelaide side that looks top 4 to me this season, that's really impressive. His footskills as a junior were a relative issue, but if he can use it efficiently and clean that up, then he has a shot at being a long term player whether that be down back or through the midfield.

Thanks again mate.Average-below average pace. He can provide some run and covers the ground well as an endurance runner. But he is more an endurance runner than linebreaker is what you should expect.
