West Coast play us off a four day break as well.
Not a bad fixture for us at all.
Well let's hope we manage our squad better this time!

We can't really complain with our fixture. We have bigger breaks before games against Essendon, Hawks and GWS than they do. Eagles have 4, 5, 4 day breaks in the lead in to our game against them. We have six days before the Demons match (one less day than they have) and seven days before the Lions match (one less again). So we have a bye to work with but they still give us a four day break against the Eagles?!! That's poor.

It will help that the game beforehand if off a proper break unlike the two shortened breaks in a row we had this time.Well let's hope we manage our squad better this time!

On the whole, it's a very good run.
Looking at the rd18 match-ups, our game is a good chance at being the Thursday or Friday night. We've been pretty well looked after with this I reckon. Even managed a couple of games on FTA too.
Playing on the Thursday in Round 17, I don't really want the pre-finals bye now. The boys have been playing back to back for 3 months, now potentially go 3 full weeks with only the GWS game in the middle, it might just take the edge off.
Ideally we'd go Thursday in Round 17, Friday in Round 18, then (hopefully Qualifying) final Saturday.

One of the few match ups with both teams in finals contention.
Planning finals already , thats a dangerous game being a sainter

Compared to the last month, it is much better in terms of turnarounds.
Last month:
Port 5 days
Swans 7 days
Suns 5 days
Cats 4 days
Next period:
Bombers 6 days
Brisbane 7 days
Melbourne 6 days
Hawthorn 8 days
Eagles 4 days
GWS 7/8/9 days

I keep telling myself that Essendon on 2 days less rest, no Zaharakis, no Smith, no Stringer, no Hooker should be beatable but I just can't put too much belief in this team yet.
I don't have that Lyon led team of Riewoldt/Hayes/Dal/Joey/Milney confidence where I'd go to a game not thinking we had a chance but expecting the win.
You never did answer how we should have managed our squad differently. Any other changes to the Gold Coast team most likely means a loss and anything we did against Geelong was still going to be a loss. And we always knew we had 2 days on Essendon in this game. I think we have managed it perfectly.Yeah if I'm looking at it correctly the Eagles have 4-5-5-4 day breaks, that's intense! Still, it means jack if we don't manage our own squad properly. I don't want to see 17 fatigued players getting smashed again, unless they play for the Eagles!!
Melbourne currently in the 8.
Giants out of the 8.
We may see us fighting off with the Giants for a top 8 spot in the last game of the year...
Yeah mate, I think he's a good footballer. Would fit in well in a good side.At least brother we have it in our own hands.
Wanted to ask you a question. Cutler, you and I were big on him last year, I still like the look of him and thought he played well today.
What did you think?
9+ percentage might be enough. 10 almost definitely will get you in.Great to get the 4 points. 8 wins banked. 10 Has been mooted as the number to make the finals - that would probably rely on %.
Melbourne shaping as a defining game - for us and them.
Lions, Demons, Hawks, Eagles and Giants remain.
Win 3 and we are in.
Does anyone know if there is a bye between Rd.18 and the first week of finals?
