I agree but he has many friends too. Still he is on the list for 2017 and is the type of guy Lambo is competing with.
Considering the sheer number of kids across the country aspiring to make the AFL but for various reasons don't it would give the impression that only the elite make the top level of competition. How then do we still discuss how poor these players skills are, surely at this level all players should be elite in all areas of the game including being able to hit a target from 20 metres.

Because technique breaks down under incredible pressure, especially without time to execute.

Castagna would hit targets from 40m at PRO, the afl is a whole other beast.

Moore, Batch and Butler (maybe to a rookie list). Easy.

Give Lambert one more year. Not like many of our players took a step forward this year. Happy to give him just the one more.

Next year should see a pretty big cull, Morris, Townsend, Lambert, Broad, Maric, Hunt, Elton (if he hasn't kicked on), and then hopefully trade out or package up with picks to improve our draft standing Miles, B Ellis, Edwards, Lennon (unless something significant happens next season), Conca Grigg and Houli. Those are the only players that will likely have currency (might not be much but at least to upgrade picks) that we should be moving on.

Could be quite the clean out next year. And we already have a pretty strong draft position. Couple of bold decisions again could really set us up.

Barlow is a massive no for me.

Extremely slow, can't kick and will be 29 at season. With the game heading towards a fast, hard running gamestyle, Barlow is going to be a liability against most sides. Not to mention he dropped off massively in 2016. Once older players hit that cliff, it is almost impossible to come back from.

J. Grimes V Batchelor is a toss of the coin. Batchelor the better kick, so I'd probably prefer him over Grimes.

Delivery is the problem with the Tigers. Too many stuff ups in a set play... and your list of players mentioned plus others concern me... We're going back to the kick in long as they don't help each other out of a predicament... Eg. No I in team. Too many players with uncontrolled un-developing emotions like a five year olds... not many mentions of "maturity beyond their years" comments per player from the outside media world. I could be wrong but that's my opinion at the moment.

No guru here... Just interested

I don't understand why people are wanting to put Edwards, Grigg, Houli on the scrap heap.

I would be doing it the other way and that is bringing in many young players each year and cutting them after two years if they are not able to play better and demand a spot from an experienced player.

Experienced players have many preseasons behind them, able to carry out the game plan, less likely to make mistakes, proven they can play consistently over a long period of time, etc, etc.

Only 2 debutants each year are likely to go on and play 100 games.
The sides that make finals and grandfinals are mostly not sides with lots of inexperience, they are sides with lots of experience and very little inexperience, and it has been that way for ever.
These teams have players until their early 30's.
We had a shocking year because we played to much inexperience early, and statically, most of them wont make 100 games.

It was Mentioned by Nick Creely on Twitter (not sure on credibility) but he said that we were looking at 2 delisted free agents to pick up- A defender and a small forward.
Defenders I would think that is either Mitch Brown or Ricky Henderson
Small Forward could be either a Green from Bris or if Ballantyne is shown the door it could be him - but I am guessing names.

Melbourne today delisted Chris Dawes....any love in here? like for peanuts I would have no probs having him on the list as insurance for Griff and his attempt to play 2 or more games of significance in the FL next year

Ban yourself now for suggesting that!

Twnsend and moore. Broad as well

We gotta stop giving out more than a year cntracts for spuds

Think we had to give Broad a 2 year deal as per draft rules. First time draftee and under 23 years of age.

so when Griff ****s up as usual and plays his one break out game a year and Elton gets his chance and returns 2 marks and 3 kicks, who do we call on to support JR?

Id rather have a broom in a bucket at chf that Dawes

Not a Dawes fan, but yep we have a massive gap between who currently plays & who can step in if needed.
I think we have to pickup a ready made KPP in the DFA or Rookie draft, whilst others develop.

yeah i am not a delisted FA fan of anyone but at the end of the day, it looks we pissed 2 spots up against the wall with A Moore and Townsend last year and the bleeding obvious needs to be addressed re. KPPs and for diddly sqat Dawes brings a career ave of 12 kicks, 5 marks and a goal a game...which is light years ahead of the previous KPP we had there and the current one in Griff who aves 9, 4 and 0.7 a game. i.e an improvement on current trends

Broad was just a discount Dan special in the draft so we have to keep the hack for two years (that's what the rookie list is for idiots).

Townsend was probably to attract him to the club but we really didn't assess him very well he's hopeless.

Moore should be done, I'll be sick if he is on our list when either a young player could have been brought in or we go after one of the DFA's that are better than what we have.
