R2 was alright, but it's disappointing that Insomniac took out so many features that made R1 a great game.

They removed the creepy atmosphere, replaced the unique weapons, got rid of all of the online server customisation (including region filtering and one-hit kills) and the R2 level designs lacked imagination.

R1 had a style of its own and was a really different game. I think Insomniac tinkered with the original formula too much.

Well from what I read, Resistance:FoM also had it's flaws. I recall reading that the Chimeran side has more health than the humans which made things a bit unbalanced and it took several bullets just to take down 1 enemy in single-player.

Also, I think Resistance 2 removed those things to balance things out a little bit. I wouldn't know though, I don't have the first game.
 
I never really played R1, played the first few levels but then traded it in.

Resistance 2 is a shit game imo. I hated almost every moment of it but was detirmined to finish the game. The best part was crashing the bridge down on the Leviathans head.

Online is the only good thing about it, that cooperative mode, would've spent atleast 10 hours on it.

I won't be bothering with Resistance 3 unless there's awesome new online features, that's where the fun was.


Oh and a rundown Chicago looked awesome.

What are the differences between human and Chimera?
Humans: Spawn with grenade & Carbine, have Infinite sprint, able to use radar, able to crouch.
Chimera: Spawn with the Bullseye, have Rage mode (increases attack power, able to see through walls, move faster).

What are the weaknesses between human and Chimera?

Chimera: Their weakness is fire. The L11-2 Dragon(flamethrower) and the Air-Fuel grenades do extra damage to them. They can't stay in Rage mode too long or they overheat. Overheating causes Chimera to gradually lose health up to 50%. Chimera also don't have the ability to crouch and lack a radar.
Humans: None really, but they are at a disadvantage against a Chimera in Rage mode.

The bullseye is a lot more inaccurate when compared to the carbine as well.

Custom online games is where it's at, though. Nearly every single game uses humans.

Exactly. The lack of customisation for games is what really let R2 down.

I'll be on later this arvo if you're up for a match (HBK, you have to come show us your CTF skills as well).
I am usually on after 5 each day, depends on what the GF is doing as well.

Agh, I am friggen dying to play R:FoM now after reading all those tactics for Somerset. Damn I :heart: that map SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

1 hit kills, Somerset, CTF = BIGGEST WIN EVER!

Also I loved the Bus Yard with 1 hit kill shotguns, fantastic fun using the hover pads going up and down in between the buses. The Bus Yard is probably my second fave map actually. It's fairly small, but it plays like a big map in that you never feel cramped and like you're running into everyone every second. Although sometimes the spawn points left a lot to be desired.

**** R:FoM was a fantastic game online. Still the best online game I've ever played.
 
Never played R2, but split-screen co-op on R1 was fantastic. Would have been an ok singleplayer, but playing through the campaign with a mate really made it a great experience.
