I remember an interview with Richo taken down at the Docklands a couple of years ago where he said Kouta was the toughest opponent he has had in the 10 odd years of football he'd played.

Kouta - by the length of Richo's nose

Koutas had one good year, Richo has had many.

Therefore Richo...

I would have to say Richo,
Kouta has been pretty awful of late, while Richo has maintained his consistency in an ordinary forwardline.
Richo has had to handle the bulk of Richmonds forwardline for a long time now.

Clear case of Kouta's injury being WAY overstated in the context of what he has done. Even before his injury, Houtoufides had probably five or six sustained years. And Koutoufides in his career has done much more than Richo - premiership, B & F, almost won a Brownlow, has actually captained his side, whereas Richo never would because he is too much of a baby.

And Koutoufides, without doubt, has worn more matches, and more important matches, off his own boot than Richo. Fact.

Both are well loved in both clubs and atleast respected by other supporters... it's hard to pick this one, Kouta in his prime was as good as anyone and Richo potentially can still kick big bags. I will say dead heat, yet vote for Kouta because I can.:)

Richo has had a better last few years and that's the only reason he's winning this poll. Kouta has had many many good years and then one of the greatest seasons of footy that ever been seen from any player. Do you people think he just magically appeared fully formed as the most dominant player in the comp and didn't really exist during the eight years of footy he player before 2000?

It shouldn't be, its not a poll based on how much each one is loved or respected.

I think thats your Carlton bias talking there.Wasn't as good as Carey.

Richardson can barely even kick straight.

I will say Koutoufides simply because his performances have been better and more consistent.Richmond in the time that Richardson has been there have never had a forward line so he has always had to play forward. He should really have been the first 6'6" ruck rover in his prime, but was sacrificed for the sake of the team.Because of that, he has never lived up to his full potential.

Kouta best was better than Careys. Obviously Carey was a better player because the hights he reached stretched over seven or so years but at their best I'd take Kouta.

And don't just take that as the opinion of a die hard Carlton supporter. Last year Nathan Buckley stated that he'd never seen a player better than Kouta at his best.

And you'd be stupid. You're taking nothing into account.Awareness, vision, versatility, god given natural talent, ability to beat three opponents, a guy who played on the best and beat them.In the 1999 GF, Koutoufides got his ass spanked by Corey McKernan. Was the Pagan move that won the premiership. You're comparing a natural born footballer with an athlete that taught himself to play football.Koutoufides is to be commended for what he did in his football career. But Carey, he's not.Not even close.

Your claiming Carey was more versatile then Kouta? :D Kouta was the prototype footballer, the guy who could play in any position on the ground and dominate. Ever since Kouta burst on the scene recruitment has been based solely on one thing, finding the next Anthony Koutoufides.

Kouta beat whole teams by himself. His greatest game imo was against the Kangaroos (where was McKernan then? Or Carey for that matter?) where he ripped them apart limb by limb. Most people who saw that game, not many of those on this board obviously, said it like watching an adult playing with kids such was Kouta's dominance.

If you are picking Koutoufides over arguably the greatest football of all time, almost unrivalled, with anything other than Carlton bias, you really are in need of some serious serious medical testing. You're making a fool of yourself.

Do you even bother reading what your replying to before you post?

mark73 - North supporter - Carey - North player - accusing another supporter of bias

Therefore

mark73 - hypocrite - tool

I think you got that one round the wrong way, Kouta nominated Richo as his toughest ever opponent. The few times Kouta played on richo he got towled up, couldnt go with him, too big, too strong, too good... having said that to be fair Kouta's best position was a dominant ruck rover, not a backman taking the best one on one forward in the comp bar carey.

I vote Richo bc Im biased, not much separating them
