Dangermouse was outstanding in the first half, but only picked up 2 or 3 in the second. Mind you, one of those was his outstanding bullocking effort with 3 opponents hanging off him. My guess is that he still needs to work on his tank - once it's up to AFL level then he'll be truly elite.

Otten got the ball at will & didn't fall out of the game like he did last week. Unfortunately, he made too many clangers this week to qualify. I still like what I see - he's playing like a 40 game player, not a 4 game player.

Petrenko was quiet in the first half, possibly caused by his ankle injury. He was good after the long break, but they don't give out nominations to people who play a half of footy.

Walker was unsighted in the first half - 1 disposal to half time. Once he kicked that goal though, he became a real danger in the forward line. Hit the sticks twice and narrowly missed from 45m on a tough angle at the end of the quarter. Didn't do anywhere near enough to get a nom this week, but looms as a distinct possibility when he puts it all together.

This early into a season, i cannot see it going to someone from a losing side. If we can beat Fremantle next week and Andy Otten can play another good one, he would be right in line. 2 good games in a row has demonstrated to the national (or should i just say the Victorian media) audience that he can play and a 3rd with a win will push him over the line.

But unless most other eligible rookies have shockers we won’t come close this round.

i think Danger is close but need to put a complete game together, Petrenko is the same as Danger, close but need to show a bit more than just his outstanding pace and breaking a line before getting a nomination and Walker is ready to break a game open.

i just hope NC doesn’t change his selection philosophies and goes for Nick Gill instead of Taylor Walker as his second half last night showed he was on the cusp of feeling at home.

I'd say Andy is leading the way from our lot of youngsters. His first quarter last night was particularly good.

Danger was good, I love how he backs himself in, although once or twice he probably just held on to the ball for too long.

Had that mark been paid to Walker he could have kicked 5 goals in a quarter there. And before the season is out he probably will.

Very special talent:thumbsu:

I love Dangers strength and ablity to stand and and power out of tackles. He has the confidence to take on the tackler and then release his hands for a handball

Dead set, if Dangers tank is fine PLAY HIM FOR ****S SAKE

He gets so much contested ball, he is impossible to stop from getting hands free.

LOVE HIM

Walker really stepped up in the 2nd half, thought his attack on the ballw as weak in the first half, but Craig, just tell him he has free reign and play him 90+% game time. After that first goal he just attacked it hard and showed why we all cream our dacks over the sound of his name.

Otten was good bar a few minor mistakes, love he take on attitude.

Pup was exciting and just unlucky, nothing wrong with him.

I love these youngsters, so so so good.

Add Beams from Collingwood, hes eligable as far as i know.

Uhh, best nominee from the crows would have been Danger imo, i mean Otten was good, but made too many mistakes.

I only saw the first 3 quarters on the plasma at The Office, but Otten was absolutely woeful. I have never seen anyone make that many clangers in a single game before. He had a drop dead shocker. Dangerfield showed some positive signs though. Love it when he takes them on.

What about Brisbane!

Albert Proud a chance.

Brisbane don't have any eligible players playing this week as far as I'm aware. Rich has already been dominated. I think Proud is too old - turned 21 last year. Happy to be corrected though.

I've included Beams in the list now, as he was a late inclusion (for Dale Thomas?)

agree with all but bolded

sorry but Ive always liked ot mark out mistakes, but the mark was on 55m. The kick was about 60m and it went through half way up the post. Too bad a behind

I havnt watched either of todays games, but I would say from our players

It would go to Dangerfeild.
