Go back to doing your pixellated gifs. At least they were somewhat original and interesting. This nonsense is boring as batshit. Did your cranky grandad hijack your account?
While I accept it’s an internet forum and I guess folk can say what they want, BUT the crap being peddled out being critical of a side which is being rebuilt is just nonsense and is either trolling for a reaction or gross naivety. Either way, as you say, after the 3rd or 4th time, notwithstanding the 58th time, adds nothing/little and is plain boring.

Agree regarding Dion, he has the runs on the board and will definetly make a difference to the midfield balance etc, however it is also detrimental to the development of a kid who gets dropped like Mcaulliffe. Its criminal how long McAulliffe has had to wait to crack into the side...Green has not lit it up and we should be selecting Algar imo. I am not sold on the match committee as they also seem to favour certain players over others and not reward players for solid vfl form.
Dion Prestia is 32.

Are you sure about this? It’s been reported he is playing the vfl game this week against gws as it’s a lunchtime game so he has plenty of time to get home

Seems i read incorrectly mate when the judgement was made. I digged a bit deeper and saw this> "He will also miss the Dreamtime at the ’G clash against Essendon in round 11 and is all but certain be ruled out of the 4.15pm clash against the Giants in Sydney the following week for fear of not making it home in time.

On the ressies game V GWS, at 12.30pm at ENGIE Stadium, yes, he would get back home in time.

Are you related to Rioli? Rioli added absolute nothing. Did you watch the game? He was pathetic. Should never be played. Terrible footballer who has zero positive impact. Spud. How could you say he added something once he came on? You’re delusional.

Stop hating on MRJ and read what I wrote
"For God's sake when MRJ came on and played up high he added some dynamism. That's how non-dynamic our midfield are."

That isn't saying MRJ was great. That's saying when he was around the ball he added some pace and made things a bit more dynamic, compared to .... not much. I was talking about our midfield being one paced and very non-dynamic.

Maurice played the defensive forward role in a game where we basically gave our small forwards a losing hand to play. He wasn't great, but wasn't any worse than our other small forwards. I have Campbell well above MRJ, but I actually reckon MRJ played a more impactful game (that is little bit compared to bugger all).

What I want to see much more than playing MRJ, is us adding some dynamic players to our midfield. KMac2 might become that, but wasn't really impactful. The guys I really want, Smillie, Hotton, Lalor, and Campbell, either aren't fit and ready or just play little bits inside. So, OK try Sonsie, and MRJ. That's all we have right now to add to the mix.

Oh and while I am ranking about this, Ross is doing OK, but isn't what I hoped for.

in 3 years we'll probably have a great midfield. Right now, we don't.

A bit of an understatement when describing a side that has lost the clearances count by >20 the last two weeks against objectively poor teams

MacAuliffe was injured pre season, got injured again early season, now isn’t injured and playing seniors.
Dow dislocated a knee cap last night and was playing ok up to that point.
Rioli started sub, dunno how much he can do with limited time, but agree, needs to show more.
Smith and Green haven’t played 30 games between them. How do they learn?
Lalor might have put his hand up to play and say he’s good to go?
Prestia? How about we see if he can get through 3 weeks of VFL first?
Ironically in the second half of the year a few tired boys might get a break with Lefau, Clarke, Gibcus, Smillie, Alger and a few others to come in a bit fresher.

McAuliffe had several weeks playing above himself in the 2's. Also based on last year, and trajectory, given our rebuild, he should be a regular and should have been picked earlier this year when not injured of course. Especially given some other players that have been selected. The last 2 weeks he has shown what he can do and has played less games than some others. He will only get better as he builds his fitness.

Dow get's way over hyped on this board whenever he does 1 or 2 good things, or plays one good game. People forget the 10 bad things on 8 games in a row where he fumbled. Unfotunately, he has strung some games together and it's pretty evident that he is not AFL standard. He definitely tries hard, but his kicking skills, constantly turning it over is hurting us way more than he's productive output. He also isn't the answer to take us forward. I have more faith McAuliffe, Smillie etc long term. Dow wouldn't be playing at other clubs.

Rioli started sub, which generally means when you come on, you have an impact with 100% energy whils't every other player is fatigued. Even when he doesn't start sub, he doesn't do near enough. I enjoy his run down tackles. However, I can't see him cementing a spot.

Smith Green, I have rarely seen anything to convince me they will be apart of our next premiership window. Green has speed, but similiar to Smith, look very vanilla. I know it's early in their careers, although I have more hope and faith in others on our list.

Yes, I agree with Lalor. Just a pity and hoping we get his body right and ready to go for full time midfield next year and beyond. His X Factor and ability around the ball is needed everywhere, not just deep forward where he can rarely sight it. I have no doubt he will be elite for us. Pity about the hamstring although it has seemed a little strange he's been primarily deep forward when we are getting slaughtered in the middle week after week.

Prestia - we need his experience and on field leadership. If he plays another week or 2 in the VFL, fair enough, but I feel he can lift the spirits of some of the younger guys and plays with his heart.

Yep, agree we should see some new faces before the end of the year to give them a taste. Come 2026, I expect to see Smillie, Gibcus, McAuliffe all regulars. Maybe even Hotton to start on the HFF.

Balta should have played half of VFL against Bummers
3 injured players and Balta off at half time.....great idea.
Gray was more than adequate. 5 day break Lalor parked at full fwd then injured & Timmy looked off.
Why not rest em, play Sonz? Did we learn nuffink from Prestia last year?

were never going to win it..

some baffling selection.

Kidding yourself. A rebuild but we want to see signs of improvement from both players and coaches. We saw Dimma acknowledge mistakes by himself in his early days. We can't criticise because of the phase they're in?
You genuinely serious about lack of improvement? We have already won more games this year than last year, with a list with less quality than last year.

Took Dimma 4+ years before he admitted to making mistakes, in hindsight he was abysmal those years, afford the same to Yze.
