No you don't. Look at Butters from Port last year alone, second season breakout and straight into the 40. So you're wrong, no apology necessary, you're welcome.

I said All Australian squad and sure you're on, bookmarked.

I put my Co&$ on the rock, shame you didn’t do the same. Disgrace that a seagull who has one good season even made the 40. laughable that he would make the 22.

Here's my attempt at the second 22:

Jordan Ridley - Harris Andrews - Jack Crisp
Christian Salem - Jacob Weitering - Adam Saad
Paul Seedsman - Jarryd Lyons - Karl Amon
Jake Stringer - Lance Franklin - Dayne Zorko
Bayley Fritsch - Jack Riewoldt - Charlie Cameron
Sean Darcy - David Mundy - Rory Laird
Hugh McCluggage - Callum Mills - Travis Boak - Joe Daniher

Adam Saad and Joe Daniher. Are you trying to punk your fellow Essendon supporters with this trash?

Are you really saying that they haven't had very good years? Daniher the only player to kick a goal every round this season, Saad has been great for Carlton off half back as much as I didn't want him to, he did.

Gawn spends 95% TOG, would argue he doesn't need a backup. Nicnat spends 60-65%? TOG, hardly an AA indictment
He might not need one but he plays with one, because Jackson is too good to leave out. And when Naitanui had such a great season he was too good a player to leave out of this team. Coin toss between Gawn and Naitanui but both of them were always making it.

Naitanui had a better season than anyone who missed out, simple as that. Stringer should have made it over Parish and the team would look more balanced.
Has nicnat earned either of his aa?
3 in fact. Should have 4 after his 2015 season but he's still underrated by many. What can you do? 🤷‍♂️

Papley had 62 v Stringer 52. Stringer played 4 less games. Stringer provided so much more value in addition to goals and goal assists.

I don't understand why you've singled out Papley as the one who Stringer should replace. They play very different roles. Papley has been the best small forward this year and is deserving of his role.

If you think Stringer is deserving of a spot, then you need to find someone else to take out. Petracca? Bontempelli? Greene?

Very good team this year. No genuine shocks. Close to easiest to predict for a long time. Probably means a half decent job by selectors.

Well deserved and congrats in particular to Aliir, Parish and Walsh.

Its always funny when they claim to want selectors to "pick them in position", until one of their favorites misses out and all of a sudden they just want him jammed in anywhere regardless of position.

I’m maintaining Steele has been the best mid this year, even above Bontempelli.

His impact on games IMO is bigger than any other player currently.

I can understand the argument that due to his teammates, Steele is the most valuable mid this year and has high impact.

St.Kilda’s midfield depth, through talent or injury, is poorer than the midfields where most of the other mids play. So his impact is higher more due to that than him as a player.

But on pure individual output and ability, to me he’s behind most of the others in that team. Steele is really top-end blue collar.

Very ordinary season for KPF's, but they've managed to pick a dangerous looking fwd line that creates a very strong "team" that is well balanced.
No point this yr having an extra tall fwd...probably no reason to have the 2 rucks either, but the days of perhaps choosing a "utility" on the bench that can be played in multiple positions went the same way as the true "winger". 2 rucks is fine this season. Not essential but fine.

Both HFFers can be argued as mids, but they were a constant threat drifting fwd and both kicked over a goal a game. Very common/almost normal in AA terms to pick goal a game mids on the HFF, as long as they had an AA standard season in midfield as well.
Same goes for HBFers. If they spent a lot of time in defence as well it is no problem. I remember 2013 when J McVeigh and S Mitchell were the HBFers and they both played mid/def depending on the game. Outstanding both as mids and dropping back loose in defence. Made for a very strong half back line and not "out of position" as some argued.
Its the strongest TEAM afterall, containing the best of the season in their position.

Hard to argue with any of this years selections.

Spending 4% of game time on a wing doesn't count

As I said earlier I had McCluggage getting one of the wings but if they had to pick two mids on the wing the most outside of the lot were Merrett and Walsh. It’s not a howler of any sort.

Definitely the most accurate All-Australian team I can remember seeing.

My instinct is that I don't like both Petracca and Bont picked in the forwardline, but Bont at least kicked multiple bags, and Petracca scored in most games, so they are relatively inoffensive shoehorns.

There are four genuine forwards in the team, and they haven't picked 3 KFs, so there's a better structure than we get most years. And I think if you tried to shove in another forward, you'd be booting a far more deserving midfielder from the team.

So even that nitpick is just that.
