This is my first ever phantom draft so here goes...

Priority Pick
#1 Melbourne: Jack Trengove (Sturt) Height: 185cm Weight: 82kg D.O.B: 02/09/91
Trengove had an excellent carnival and has already starred in the seniors for Sturt which shows that he will be a star. The Dees could very well shock with this pick.

First Round
#2 Melbourne: Tom Scully (Dandenong Stingrays) Height: 182cm Weight: 74kg D.O.B: 15/05/91
If they don’t pick up him up with pick 1, they will with pick 2.

#3 Richmond: Dustin Martin (Bendigo Pioneers) Height: 187cm Weight: 86 kg D.O.B: 26/06/91
Martin is one of the best kicks in the draft, and on both sides as well, and is a terrific footballer overall.

#4 Fremantle: Anthony Morabito (Peel Thunder) Height: 190cm Weight: 9kKg D.O.B: 29/10/91
Freo are guaranteed to take him. He is a local boy and has pace an x-factor and with him and Hill in the same side, they will be dangerous.

#5 North Melbourne: Ben Cunnington (Geelong Falcons) Height: 186cm Weight: 84kg D.O.B: 30/06/91
Cunnington is the best available and North would want to inject some great quality into their young midfield. With his courage and toughness at the ball, he has been likened to Bartel and Sewell and would suit North.

#6 Sydney: Gary Rohan (Geelong Falcons) Height: 186 cm Weight: 79kg D.O.B: 07/06/91
The Swans have a lot of in and under type players so they will be happy with Rohan who is a flashy outside player.

#7 West Coast: Kane Lucas (East Fremantle) Height: 188cm Weight: 79kg D.O.B: 26/06/91
The Eagles will be pleased to snare Lucas. A home grown classy outside midfielder.

#8 Port Adelaide: John Butcher (Gippsland Power) Height: 197cm Weight: 84kg D.O.B: 03/07/91

Port will be happy that Butcher will slip to their pick. Butcher is a strong marking key forward who would be the ideal replacement for Tredrea.

#9 Port Adelaide: Luke Tapscott (North Adelaide) Height: 180cm Weight: 86kg D.O.B: 28/06/91

Port will pick the home grown boy here. Tapscott has a huge penetrating kick and is usually very dangerous when he has the ball. Can also assist in the midfield because of his big body.

#10 Essendon: Lewis Jetta (Swan Districts) Height: 178cm Weight: 72kg D.O.B: 04/05/89
Might be a risk at #10 but with Lovett traded to the Saints, the Bombers would love to land Jetta. The dynamic wingman would be a great replacement for Lovett and can also snare a few goals up forward.

#11 Melbourne: Jack Carlisle (Calder Cannons) Height: 196cm Weight: 83kg D.O.B: 01/10/91

After drafting midfielders with their first two picks, the Demons will draft the next best available forward and Carlisle is just that.

#12 Carlton: Daniel Taila (Calder Cannons) Height: 194cm Weight: 89kg D.O.B: 02/10/91

The Blues will be glad to pick Taila. The versatile defender/forward is a good prospect and will play similar to Hurley.

#13 Adelaide: Koby Stevens (Gippsland Power) Height:187cm Weight: 83kg D.O.B: 18/06/91

The Crows went tall last year so they will definitely be going smaller in this draft. Never know who Rendell might take with a first round pick but the crows will go for the best midfielder left and Stevens is just that. Will add great depth.

#14 Sydney: Jake Melksham (Calder Cannons) Height: 182cm Weight: 69kg D.O.B: 29/08/91

Melksham’s stocks have risen after an impressive TAC Cup Grand Final. Melksham is a gun midfielder with good endurance, agility, balance and is also good at the clearances. Might need to work on his frame a little bit, didn’t know he was that light.

#15 Western Bulldogs: Allen Christensen (Geelong Falcons) Height: 176cm Weight: 75kg D.O.B: 19/05/91

No real needs for the Dogs so they will pick a mid. Christensen is a speedy outside midfielder that adds x-factor.

#16 Port Adelaide: Bradley Sheppard (East Fremantle) Height: 186cm Weight: 78kg D.O.B: 23/05/91

Will go for the best available. Don’t need a ruckman with Lobbe and Redden developing. Sheppard is a fine rebounding defender, good by both hand and foot.

#17 Geelong: Nathan Vardy (Gippsland Power) Height: 198cm Weight: 89kg D.O.B: 25/06/91

Geelong should go for a ruckman. With Mumford traded, Ottens ageing, Blake no good and big question marks over West, Geelong will not hesitate to pick up the number 1 ruckman.

The other rounds are currently under construction so the other rounds should come fairly soon.

Second Round

#18 Melbourne: Jordan Gysberts (Eastern Ranges) Height: 188cm, Weight: 83kg, DOB: 11/06/91
Silky midfielder with great skills. The best available and the Dees should be happy with him.

#19 Richmond: Ben Griffiths (Eastern Ranges) Height: 198cm, Weight: 99kg, DOB: 17/09/91
After picking Martin with pick #3 I can see Richmond going tall. Griffiths has very strong hands and is a huge kick, his kick has been likened to Scott Lucas and Anthony Rocca. A good forward prospect for the future.

#20 Fremantle: Aaron Black (Peel Thunder) Height: 193cm, Weight: 78kg, DOB: 29/11/90
Black is a home-grown prospect that Freo should snare. They need more talls and Black is a tall, athletic key forward with strong hands would be a great pick up for them.

#21 North Melbourne: Matthew Panos (Norwood) Height: 192cm, Weight: 85kg, DOB: 25/01/91
Panos possesses strong hands and is a penetrating kick. Will slide due to being undersized but I think North will be very happy with him.

#22 West Coast: Travis Colyer (Claremont) Height: 175cm Weight: 73kg D.O.B: 24/08/91
Pick up a home grown speedy forward/wingman. Will develop into a good player. Can play as a small forward in which the Eagles are after. Has been slightly likened to Brent Harvey

#23 West Coast: Troy Taylor (NT Thunder) Height: 188cm Weight: 75kg D.O.B: 12/09/91
Taylor is probably the most exciting play in this draft. He has freakish skills and a great leap and has been likened to Daniel Motlop.

#24 Essendon: Ryan Bastinac (Dandenong Stingrays) Height: 183cm Weight: 74kg D.O.B: 22/06/91
Essendon pick up a good midfielder with excellent skills. A smart inside mid with clean disposal.

#25 North Melbourne: Mitchell Duncan (East Perth) Height: 188cm Weight: 81kg D.O.B: 10/06/91
A slider that North will happily pick up here. A skilled, tough midfielder that can play stints up forward as well.

#26 Essendon: Alex Carey (Glenelg) Height: 181cm Weight: 76kg D.O.B: 27/08/91
Essendon pick up another skillful inside mid in Carey. Is very courageous and has great awareness and tackling.

#27 Brisbane: Jesse Crichton (Tassie Mariners) Height: 183cm Weight: 66kg D.O.B: 18/06/91
Best available mid. Hard at it mid with excellent tackling skills. Will be a good replacement for the likes of Black and Power.

#28 Geelong: Callum Bartlett (Geelong Falcons) Height: 179cm Weight: 75kg D.O.B: 19/06/91
Has been riddled with injury but has amazing potential. The reigning premiers would be prepared to take a risk.

#29 Adelaide: Roland Ah Chee (NT Thunder) Height: 184cm Weight: 79kg D.O.B: ???
A dashing outside midfielder with good skills. Tested well at the state screening and sas a lot of x-factor about him and will fit in well at the crows.

#30 Collingwood: Luke Ball (St. Kilda) Height: 184cm Weight: 83kg D.O.B: 25/05/84
Collingwood to pick up Ball with their first pick.

#31 Western Bulldogs: Nat Fyfe (Claremont) Height: 186cm Weight: 73cm D.O.B: 18/09/91
A creative smart forward with good goal sense and reads the game extremely well. Will be a good replacement for Akermanis.

#32 St. Kilda: Andrew Moore (Eastern Ranges) Height: 188cm Weight: 81kg D.O.B: 30/05/91
A slider. Versatile midfielder who can play forward, has been likened to Ryan O’Keefe. Brother of Richmond’s Kelvin. Will be the best available for the Saints who have no real needs.

#33 Essendon: Max Gawn (Sandringham Dragons) Height: 206cm Weight: 97cm D.O.B: 28/12/91
After having drafted three mids, a ruckman wouldn’t hurt here. They have two star ruckmen in Hille and Ryder but Gawn looms as a very good prospect. Being that tall, he is capable of being a very damaging ruckman.

Third Round
#34 Melbourne: Jack Fitzpatrick (Western Jets) Height: 201cm Weight: 85kg D.O.B:26/06/91
After drafting three mids and a KP, a ruck will be next on their radar. He had a very poor carnival which will come under scrutiny but he tested reasonably well at draft camp.

#35 Richmond: Josh Thomas (Gold Coast) Height: 178cm Weight: 70kg D.O.B: 01/10/91
Thomas has big wraps on him and is by far Queenlsand’s best prospect. He is very good at winning contested ball, is a good kick and has pace. Will add to their young midfield stocks.

#36 Fremantle: Chris Luff (WA) Height: 193cm Weight: 83kg D.O.B: ???
Freo need a key defender and Luff is the best key defender WA have to offer. He is an agile key defender who reads the play well and is a good mark as well

#37 North Melbourne: Ryan Harwood (Tassie Mariners) Height: 184cm Weight: 79kg D.O.B: 08/07/91
Harwood is an inside mid who is very good at the clearances, has clean hands and disposal and has pace. More midfield depth.

#38 Sydney: David Astbury (North Ballarat Rebels) Height: 193cm Weight: 79cm D.O.B: 26/02/91
After drafting two mids, a KP is on the cards for this pick. Astbury is a KP who can play as a forward and a defender. He is a good contested mark and has good pace for his size. Needs to build up but he seems a good prospect.

#39 Hawthorn: James Craig (North Adelaide) Height: 195cm Weight: 91kg D.O.B: 18/04/91
Since Campbell has now retired, and that Bailey is permanently injured and Taylor a spud, the Hawks will draft a ruckman/defender. Craig is undersized which is why he will drop but he still possesses a good vertical leap.

#40 Geelong: Joel Houghton (Perth Demons) Height: 195cm Weight: 82kg D.O.B: 26/11/91
After delisting two key forwards and with Mooney ageing, I can see Geelong picking up a key forward here. Houghton is a versatile key forward who possesses good hands, is a good shot for goal and doesn't fumble below his knees.

#41 North Melbourne: Daniel Menzel (Central District) Height: 185cm Weight: 77kg D.O.B: 13/09/91
Menzel would be an absolute steal at #41. A smart running defender who is great at setting up play. Has tidy disposal and good endurance and will slot into North’s defence nicely. Has been likened to Josh Drummond.

#42 Geelong: Jaspar McMillan-Pittard (Geelong Falcons) Height: 183cm Weight: 70kg D.O.B: 01/01/91
Jaspar is an athletic mid who likes to break the lines and also possesses good vision. Geelong will happily pick him up here with no real needs.

#43 Carlton: Nicholas Winmar (Claremont) Height: 190cm Weight: 78kg D.O.B: 27/04/91
Winmar is the ideal wingman. He has good pace, speed and agility, good attack on the ball and is very athletic. Can also play up forward.

#44 Richmond: Andrew Hooper (North Ballarat Rebels) Height: 172cm Weight: 78kg D.O.B: 18/01/91
Hooper was the joint Larke Medalist this year. He is an athletic defender who tested well in speed, agility and leap but his main problem is his height which will make him slide and could mean he may play up forward.

#45 Adelaide: Derick Wanganeen (Port Adelaide Magpies) Height: 172cm Weight: 63kg D.O.B: 05/02/91
Wanganeen is a quick midfielder who can also play up forward, but just like Hooper, he is very small so he will probably play the small crumbing forward role that the crows have been crying out for. He possesses clean hands and has good skills and also has good goal sense.

#46 Hawthorn: Sam Reid (Murray Bushrangers) Height: 192cm Weight: 84kg D.O.B: 27/12/91
Reid is an athletic rebounding defender who can also play as a key defender which is one thing the Hawks are after. Brother of Collingwood’s Ben.

#47 Brisbane: Myles Pitt (Dandenong Stingrays) Height:190cm Weight: 93kg D.O.B: ???
Pitt is a forward prospect who is a good mark on the lead and plays deep. An ideal replacement for Bradshaw.

#48 Fremantle: Dylan McNeil (NSW/ACT Rams) Height: 178cm Weight: 75kg D.O.B: 20/03/01
McNeil is a very courageous midfielder and is very strong around the clearances. Won the Hunter Harris medal for the best player in the second division. Will add depth and grunt to Freo’s young midfield

#49 Fremantle: Joseph Dare (Geelong Falcons) Height: 188cm Weight: 81kg D.O.B: 17/10/92
Dare is a running defender that reads the play really well and has a precise kick. Don’t see him slipping much further.

Fourth Round
#50 Melbourne: Dylan Grimes (Northern Knights) Height: 192cm Weight: 81kg D.O.B: 16/07/91
Grimes is a quick key defender who has great closing speed. Also has strong defensive skills and can read the play well. Brother of Jack which means he will fit in well at the Demons.

#51 Richmond: Ayden Kennedy (Eastern Ranges) Height: 191cm Weight: 79kg D.O.B: 31/10/91
Kennedy is an athletic key forward who possesses good hands on the lead and at ground level and is a good kick overall.

#52 Fremantle: Mark Hutchings (East Perth) Height: 180cm Weight: 82kg D.O.B: 25/02/91
Hutchings is a hard at it and tough as nails midfielder. He possesses good vision and hands. He also has great leadership skills which was shown as the captain of WA. Midfield depth for Freo.

#53 North Melbourne: Sam Shaw (Oakleigh Chargers) Height: 191cm Weight: 77kg D.O.B: 05/04/91
Shaw is a versatile forward who can play at either end of the ground but mainly as a key defender. A good draft camp should see him go up a little bit and will be able to develop with Grima and Thompson as young key defenders.

#54 Sydney: Kyle Hartigan (Western Jets) Height: 194cm Weight: 89kg D.O.B: 07/11/91
Hartigan is a key defender who possesses a good mark, good kick and makes good decisions. Will be a young, KP prospect for the Swans, especially in defence.

#55 Sydney: Joshua Cowan (North Ballarat Rebels) Height: 183cm Weight: 71kg D.O.B: 16/03/91
Cowan is a run and carry wingman who is good at winning his own ball. Should be a steal at #55.

#56 Geelong: Marcus Davies (Tassie Mariners) Height: 187cm Weight: 81kg D.O.B: 04/06/91
Davies will be the best available at this pick. Davies is a midfielder/defender who has a lot of pace and is a powerful runner. Tested well in the beep test and the time trials.

#57 Hawthorn: Anthony Delborello (West Perth)
Height: 181cm Weight: 78kg D.O.B: 02/08/91
Delborello is a strong contested ball winner and looms as a good pick up. Played well for WA in the U18 championships.

#58 Hawthorn: Zach Ledin (Geelong Falcons) Height: 180cm Weight: 75kg D.O.B: 02/05/90
Ledin was eligible last year but didn’t get picked up, and should this year. Ledin gets a lot of the pill, has good disposal and reasonably good speed. Will add depth to the midfield.

#59 Carlton: Tom Hill (Northern Knights) Height: 199cm Weight: 82kg D.O.B: 07/04/91
Hill has struggled with injury but is a good forward prospect. He has strong hands and is a good kick for goal as well. Can also play stints in the ruck. Will add to Carlton’s forward line after losing Fevola.

#60 St. Kilda: Joshua Donaldson (West Perth) Height: 193cm Weight: 85kg D.O.B: 04/05/91
Donaldson will probably go higher than this and by this pick, the Saints should go for the best available. Donaldson is an athletic, versatile tall and possesses great speed for his size.

#61 Adelaide: Tom Harms (Sturt) Height: 185cm Weight: 78kg D.O.B: 15/06/91
Harms will be a smokey at this pick. Had a poor draft camp but he is a versatile midfield/forward with strong hands and is difficult to match up on. Also possesses strong and accurate kicking skills that make him dangerous in possession. Also got interviewed by the Crows meaning some interest.

#62 Collingwood: Serhat Temel (Calder Cannons) Height: 194cm Weight: 89 D.O.B: ???
After an impressive TAC Cup finals for the Cannons, Temel is worth a punt. He isn’t very athletic or agile but he has a big body and an impressive pair of hands and is a good kick as well.

#63 Western Bulldogs: Byron Sumner (Woodvillle-West Torrens) Height: 174cm Weight: 68kg D.O.B: 16/05/91
Sumner is a speedy wingman with a penetrating left boot and performed well for South Australia. He will probably slide because he’s tiny but is still quality.

#64 St. Kilda: Brayden Norris (Murray Bushrangers) Height: 186cm Weight: 69kg D.O.B: 27/11/91
Norris is a hard running midfidler/half-forward and produced outstanding results in the beep test which will improve his chances.

#65 Geelong: Simon Potts (North Adelaide) Height: 190cm Weight: 76kg D.O.B: 07/03/91
Potts is a good reader of the play and has good disposal by foot. Being only 190cm for a tall defender, he is most likely to play as a third tall being a good
replacement for Harley.

Good first round attempt, nothing out of the ordinary but a decent draft so far, happy with Lucas at 7 but i highly highly doubt the dee's will take Jetta at 10. Agree with pretty much all selections and will be looking forward to reading your 2nd round.:thumbsu:

HINT: Colyer to WC! Colyer to WC! :) :)

Nice for a first attempt but you shouyld add a 'what every team gets'.
Also happy with two mids in Gary Rohan and Jake Melksham. Would've wanted Talia though.

would be happy with Butcher, Tapscott and Sheppard. Would love Melksham to slide to 16 but if he doesn't young Bradley will slot in nicely.

Based on my through and specialised knowledge of this draft (ie everything I have read on big footy:D)

I would be very happy with Koby Stevens and Roland ah Chee

Good work on the overall place

Very happy with that. Morabito, Black and Luff are the big 3 I want in the draft.

Not sure about Dare though, we've got a lot of rebounding defenders as it is.

This caught my eye. Now i would not put Temel in the good midfield agility box but to say he is not very athketic or agile is way off the mark IMO.
He has pretty good pace and he moves well for a bloke his size. Seen him on a very wet day at Box Hill in the second half of the year moving around the forward line and picking the ball up off the ground as good as any player out there.
I think he is the player that just about everyone has under rated by a long way.

yea that is pretty much a dream draft for north

cant see it happening like that but shi i would be happy
