Good thing is that we have midfielders who can kick goals as well. Crossy kicked one last week, as did Vince. Viney can kick goals, as can Toump. And I'm sure Tyson could nail a few also, not to mention Jones has been doing it for years. We will find a way to put it on the scoreboard, regardless of what the line-up is within the forward fifty. Just have a little faith. #InRoosWeTrust

Saints booted 16 goals today and got within 9 points of Port Adelaide at Alberton.

Both teams have big outs, I'm looking forward to it.

Will Jonesy play? He wired up the electrical in my house :)

Put Sam Blease down for your BOG, it's him isn't it...that always stars against us?

On pre season form I wouldn't have a spot for blease in the team , it's a team with no midfield verse a team with no forward line , I guess both sides are gonna be desperate to win this one because the loser will be doom an gloom

Jonesy should get a gig our midfield isn't strong enough to push him out yet

The irony in the coaching situation is I remember watching Melbourne beat Sydney late in 2010 by 70 plus points, I was thinking, get rid of roos and his boring coaching.

Howe continues to be a consistent force though, even today, he could be the difference round one maybe.

Is it common knowledge that Blease looks like Neeld in here or just me?

More irony being Sydney went on to win the a premiership 2 years later and we were the worst team ever

Howe is going to have to kick a bag or at least catch everything down there to give us a chance

Should be a cracking match

Even in the last few years especially with Clarke in, it looked like whenever the ball went into the 50 a goal was scored. It just did not get there much unfortunately

I'm pretty sure we have been in the top cpl the last few years of forward efficiency, no doubt with a gun midfield we would have the ability to kick a big score

It's clearly the intensity in the midfield that needs to be lifted, if fit the spine looks good.

Saw Roos presser post match. Sounded like Neeld.

Yeah, he did a bit but unlike Neeld he didn't look lost for answers. With Roos you at least get the feeling he'll tackle the issue in a sensible and simple way.

At the end of the day it will take time regardless of who coaches us. This pre-season was a case of 2 steps forward, 1 step backwards which could be a narrative for us in the short term. Tbh I'll take it.

Been told the Department of Housing are keeping an eye on him for future press conferences. They don't want a repeat of last year. (although our training has been better this pre season than last pre season)

Pretty disappointed with yesterday but it just goes to show that Round One is far from a done deal by every means.

He did, but this would concern me more if it was coming from a rookie coach, but it's Roos we are talking about so I'm giving him a lot of latitude. He has said previously there will be bumps along the way, and now that I've thought about it perhaps this wasn't a bad time to get smashed. Hopefully this shakes them up ahead of round 1 and removes any false illusions they had so they don't come out like they did yesterday... hopefully.

I think this is the big difference between Roos now and Neeld when he was starting out. None of this 'toughest team to play against/elite standards' bluster coming from Roos; he's been fairly honest about things. We're still the easybeats of the competition until proven otherwise and it'll take a while to do that. Also I think people around here did get too far ahead of themselves after the first couple of games where we were pretty decent. A couple of decent NAB games doesn't change how shit we've been, and will probably continue to be for the next season or so. Ro Bail might be this years James Sellar Award winner for all we know.
