Whilst it's true Essendon have a stronger team than last season (particularly up forward and down back), their midfield is one of the worst/most inexperienced in the league, especially without Johnson. Against Goodwin, Edwards, Thompson, Shirley, Reilly etc the supply to Lloyd and Lucas will just not be enough.

Crows by 6 goals.

Watson, Stanton and McVeigh will continue on from their good form in the Practise Matches and should provide some good run, hopefully Dempsy and Winders get a crack in the middle if included.
I can't see Adelaide stopping our forwards.
Should be a tight game.
Ess by 10 points.

It shall be fascinating to see how the pecking order has changed since last year in terms of the youngsters. You'd have to think that Vince has slid to the back of the "4 man pack" comprising Bernie, Douglas, Knights and Porplyzia. Had he not been injured things may have been different, but I can't see him lining up for us this week unless Welsh doesn't pull up.

The thing is though, we've seen Porplyzia be unbelievably cool under pressure and showcase his silky skills, we know that Knights has tremendous ball-winning ability, we know that Douglas can take opposition on and create some really exciting plays. This early in the year, imo it might be good for young Bernie to get a chance to show us something too. Either way I'm really pumped about seeing the young'ns take things to the next level. Also it's funny, I don't even put VB into that group. I just think he lines up in our best 22 every day of the week.

Why do people continue to overrate Vince? I find him to be a very ordinary player who doesn’t really stand out as anything special. What makes him so great? And don’t bother giving me the standard, “X factor” reply because I’ll need more convincing than that. He has decent hands, can kick a goal, but he lacks pace and I can’t see him specialising in any position in the AFL.

On Saturday Pfeiffer clearly outplayed Vince, and yet you have Vince in the “4 man pack” and completely forget to mention Pfeiffer. Tipical.

Relax Drummond.

Vince has made his AFL debut being drafted at 32.

Pfeiffer has not.

So far - Vince >>> Pfeiffer.

Simple.
Why should that matter? Sometimes those drafted earlier are the ones furthest away from making their debut. Just because someone has made their AFL debut doesn’t mean they are a better prospect than another.

So I take it Jericho >>> Sellar? ;)

Yeah but you always talk up Pfeiffer and he has done nothing so far, you overrate him somewhat, plus his actions off the field won't help his cause.

Vince is a good player, i'm not sure why you think he's a dud and as Gets! said he has already made his debut ahead of Pfeiffer.

Now now don't be silly.

Daz's time will come...but at this stage Vince is the better player. Classy as.
Who's being silly, I thought it was a valid point? And one you can’t argue with either because no one in their right mind would take Jericho over Sellar, or Jericho over anyone for that matter. :p

Yeh all we hear is that Vince has that "something special", and that he’s classy ect. However Pfeiffer’s also extremely classy, should have seen some of his elusive moves he came out with against the Eagles. ;)

RoosterLad, I talk up Pfeiffer but it's justified. Made his SANFL debut at 17, made the U/18 AA side, and had 25 possession games for Norwood as a teenager. There’s a lot to like about him, and in time you’ll see this.

yes, the best defense in the league will be no match for the 15th teams forwards.

it all makes sense now! :p

CrowMo and M32 ;)

Hey, I resent that, when did I ever post some stupidity? ;) :D

I seriously want an infraction that causes peoples heads to bang together, I think I need to talk to Fred and Chief about that one ;) Oh and one where I can give out some gold stars too :D

Stop being ignorant. Vince and Pfeiffer are easily comparable, having been on the list for the same amount of time. Jericho and Sellar arent comparable, because Sellar hasnt even been on the list long enough to play an official AFL game.

Vince played the very first AFL game he was available for, a sign the coaching staff rate him highly. Pfeiffer as far as i know hasnt even been named as an emergency yet. At this stage Vince is ahead of Pfeiffer. You are the only one who doesnt see it.

Didn't Brent Williams, yes, the Brent Williams, make U18 AA CHF back in the dizzay?

I understand what you're saying, but the U18 AA side is worth roughly three squirts of cat's piss.

Brent ended up back playing in the MPNFL after he finished with the AFC.
