Drummond, do you not think that a real "X Factor" player is what the Crows lack right now? In years gone by we've been fortunate to have a couple of gems. The obvious one is D. Jarman, don't tell me the '97 grand final would've panned out the same without him in there. Of course there's also Peter Vardy, a genuinely exciting forward who could make something from nothing, he made some gobsmacking plays back in the day. Who is there now? We've got a lot of these promising kids who can find the footy and show poise beyond their years, but what we seek (at least if we want to have a real crack at holding onto leads deap into finals games) is a player with that bit of magic about him, a game-breaker. Vince has got that about him. There's no question that Pfeiffer has shown some real signs in the SANFL as well, and I am absolutely confident that he'll be around the mark in due course, but he's got a lot of similar players milling around in Knights and Porplyzia and co.; Vince is a whole different net of fish, he's got the magic streak that would be a crime to waste.

The Adelaide Crows opening match of the AFL season against Essendon at Football Park on Sunday is a sell-out.

General manager of commercial operations Phil Harper said the last tickets to the game were snapped up early on Thursday.

"To sell this game out despite the threat of the game being shown on television live shows that our supporters understand that their hands-on support of their team at the ground is still a key ingredient to team success," Harper said.

Thats great news but from memory almost all if not all crows home games sold out last year (excluding the freo final which was very dissapointing) anyway. Still except a few thousand crows members not to turn up. I assume they havent brought in a new system for more tickets be available to the general public if members cant go?

What an absolutely disgraceful time for a game of footy, still I will actually be there this time as I make my debut as a Silver Member. That will be far more exciting than the actual game itself as we should run out comfortable winners by 65 points.

Awesome, same for me. It feels odd being a member after so many lineups at BASS in years gone by...I won't know myself.
