He is able to play full games in the ruck which will fast track his development instead of sitting him in a pocket at the VFL and him doing nothingWhy is Hayes Brown playing in the VAFA & not VFL?

I remember playing under 12s in the mid 80s and a kid rocked up to training in a pair of these.
He was told by the club to do it to get some experience and learn the game, he has no football background. Why is Hayes Brown playing in the VAFA & not VFL?

They were crap back then when Voss and Leppa were in charge. My only interest now is to see if our younger players start to improve. Having said that we're going to cop a hiding. And to think how many times we beat them up there not too long ago.
Jack Dyer would turn over in grave if he knew what sort of pansy boots our players wear nowadays.
They look like they'd survive a nuclear holocaust.I remember playing under 12s in the mid 80s and a kid rocked up to training in a pair of these.
Surprise a few with what?Hopefully it means we get underestimated and we can surprise a few
What are your thoughts on nibWe saving the jumper designed by MRJ for next week? Not a fan of the brown that’s been added. Our jumper should be yellow and black, no other colours
Well this week the hits keep on coming as we head interstate again this time to face a Brisbane side that sits 13th on the ladder and whose season is hanging by a thread as far as being a genuine premiership contender this year. The Lions are coming off a draw against Adelaide in their last game and much like the Dogs will be looking at bouncing back to get their season back on track.
Meanwhile at Punt Road the injury crisis keeps on keeping on, with Maurice Banks & Graham all injured against the Dogs on Saturday night, while reports over the weekend also have Sonsie(wrist) and Campbell(knee) under injury clouds plus fresh injuries to Trezise(neck/concussion) & Koschitzke(ankle) from the VFL game.
At this stage anyone who is heading up to the game against the Lions as a fan should probably pack a pair of boots just in case they're needed.
After getting beaten by 15 goals against the Dogs and being widely criticized by both media and supporters alike for a lack of effort the Tigers will also be keen to show that they aren't an easy side to play against and will be desperate to get back some respect from the fans in particular.
As mentioned the side will once again be like a merry go round with 3-4 players going out injured and another 3-4 either coming back in or getting a fresh opportunity. We should regain both Baker and Grimes who were missing against the Dogs due to niggles where the club took a cautious approach, while Graham Maurice and Banks are definitely out and Campbell a possibility as well. Unfortunately there is no one else coming back from the injury list this week, with Hopper at least another 2 games away, while Taranto is at least a month away, while Ross and Lynch are 6 weeks away at best.
So who else is likely to get the call up. Ryan played another strong game in the VFL and could be called up to provide some support to Nankervis, who looks to be struggling himself with niggles, McAuliffe was strong in the midfield against the Dogs with 25 disposals 10 tackles and 7 clearances to put his hand up, McIntosh had a strong outing especially in the 2nd half to finish with 21 disposals 4 tackles & 8 clearances to also put himself in contention. Outside that the likes of Coulthard Green & Smith who have been in good form all were slightly quieter against the Dogs so would be outside chances to come in.
Predicted Changes and Line Up:
Out - Graham M.Rioli Banks Campbell (all injured)
In - Grimes Baker McIntosh McAuliffe
B: Grimes Miller Young
HB: Brown D.Rioli Vlastuin
C: Ralphsmith Pickett McIntosh
HF: Baker Bolton Mansell
F: Balta Martin Lefau
R: Nankervis Prestia Dow
INT: Cumberland Sonsie Short Broad McAuliffe
EMG: Ryan Green Coulthard
Prediction: Tigers to put in a better showing than against the Dogs, but the Lions have too much class and should win by 5-6 goals.
Had a pair like them...They look like they'd survive a nuclear holocaust.
As opposed to every other player on the listDon't want to rush him back.....
We used to thump them under **** too. They were our birches under all of them. Even when we were s**tThey were crap back then when Voss and Leppa were in charge.
Rolls have reversed now.We used to thump them under **** too. They were our birches under all of them. Even when we were s**t
If we want to build a future too right.McAuliffe must play.
You make this sound like it's a controversial call when we have two injured midfielders and literally nobody else to replace themMcAuliffe must play.
