Very interestingly Jack trained with the mids this week. His chaotic pressure through the middle, when allowed to drift up the ground recently could be just what we need.
That's an interesting observation. Is he going to take up a midfield role? From where he can captain the team? Hmmmmm....

Who is channel 6 (I'm a mainlander ;)).

Oh and McBean has already debuted.... against the Pies in round 7 last year....

No such channel (by name) and McBean has already debuted.

The force is strong in this one.

Vickery will play this week, kick 3 and be an automatic selection for next 6 weeks.

I wouldnt get too excited, if I know the RFC it will be something like Rioli out and Townsend in. TV another reprieve and will no doubt do enough on the weekend in Hardwick's eyes for him to remain in the team for the remainder of the season.

Yep!! Most likely. It's been the trend. Obviously Ws in the Win/Loss column are the most important thing. (If you won EVERY game by one point you'd be the Premier!) When looking at smashing sides, even more important than the percentage boost (which is still important of course!), is the intent and fierceness in grinding weaker opposition into the turf. Much like last week against GC we seem to regularly struggle through a whole game against weaker sides and sometimes don't even put them away, we JUST win. It's a sign of a lack of killer instinct in the group. We have had only ten 60+ margins in Hardwick's time:
2012 Bulldogs 70 MCG
2012 Hawthorn 62 MCG:D
2013 Bulldogs 60 Etihad
2013 Bulldogs 67 Etihad
2013 St. Kilda 64 MCG
2013 GWS 121 Skoda
2014 GWS 113 Skoda
2015 Collingwood 91 MCG:D
2015 Gold Coast 83 MCG
2015 Brisbane 79 Gabba
I did a couple of other clubs as a comparison, Bulldogs have had 17 in the same time, Hawthorn 33!! Not the ultimate stat by any means but if you analysed the seasons more thoroughly, how many wins would you pick out against sides that have been 'weaker' at the time where we have gone neck and neck all day, low scoring and maybe a 10-20 point win. More than double that list I reckon. There's no Carlton, Essendon or Melbourne on that list, only one against St.Kilda, Gold Coast and Brisbane and don't forget we've had losses to GC and Melbourne among others.
We have to admit there have been some terrific wins in the last few years against the better sides. We've been very good interstate. That's great but the killer instinct (which by default brings greater percentage) is vital to the top 4 sides that are able to challenge for the flag.
I know it's not the most scientific analysis but, as NaturalDisaster said, Brisbane will probably play their arses off against us and one of the reasons is that the weaker sides would see us as an opportunity if they do that. Get us under pressure and there's an opportunity to keep it tight all day.
The positive for us is that, right now, Brisbane may be about the weakest of the weaker opposition in the last few years. I'd like to predict we'll add a 60+ win to that list on Saturday.
I really would like to. :p

Yes, if you win EVERY game by one point you win the flag, but if you drop seven games in the first 12 you need percentage to get into the finals

We have had only ten 60+ margins in Hardwick's time:

Can't remember the full quote but after the GC win, he said something like: "We don't win by big margins."

It would be good to see us annihilate an oppo team. Tigers need blood to grow and be strong.

Rioli out due to family death (not sure if it's been mentioned or not)

Can't wait to see McBean "debut" ;) it will probably feel like a debut though as he was unsighted in his first 2 appearances. Good luck to him though and let's hope he kicks a bag on unknown Brisbane KPD spud

Play griff out of the goal square, jack can sit at CHF or roam wherever he likes. He's going to be valuable wherever he plays...

What are the chances Vickery isn't dropped tonight and then goes on to kick five against a struggling Brisbane defence, then we have to put up with him playing mediocre for the rest of the year?
This has been posted every week, almost.

Except it will be 2-3 goals and Hardwick will make out he redeemed himself in his presser

Quite likely an accurate prediction.
But all coaches talk bullshit. Cliches.
Dunno why they bother, but they do. They know they're only fooling the tourists.
I don't expect him to be coaching us in 2017.
