Normally agree with alot of what you post, but there is no world where Hunt shouldn't be the first dropped from tonight's game
Also forgot Hough was just unwell so should be fresh to return. One of the all time shocking changes thread suggestions by me I reckon.

In: Reid, Hough, Long
Out: Allen (inj), Hunt, Kelly

Backs: Edwards, Brock, Ginbey, Baker, Duggan, Allan, McCarthy
Mids: Reid, Hewett, Hough, Hall, Maric, Dewar
Rucks: Flynn, Reid
Forwards: Williams, Williams, Cripps, Ryan, Brockman, Graham, Hutchinson
Sub: Long
Emergencies: Hunt (travelling), Shanahan, Chesser

Archer in for Allen, I think they’ll keep developing Shanahan as a defender. Also debuting him as a forward in a massacre at Marvel would be cruel. Reid to back up Flynn in the ruck, Bailey Williams to be permanent forward.

Hough back into the middle, Duggan back into defence, Maric and Dewar to both play wing, Hunt gets dropped.

Hall into the 22, Graham pushed onto a flank, Kelly gets dropped. He’s well overdue for another “rocket”, sticking him on a flank hasn’t made much difference. He’s still cruising around like he has little to no interest.

Long in as sub. Not sure he earned a call up but it doesn’t sound like anyone did really, and I don’t want to bring Owies straight back in.

jobe needs to play and play as a forward. Can’t have Archer in there not able to kick goals.
Archer should be in as our backup ruck primarily, goal kicking accuracy isnt as important. JWil and BWil should be our 2 KPFs for the rest of the year

OUT

H Edwards (inj)
Allen (inj)
Kelly
Hunt

IN

Bazzo
Shanahan
Hough
Long

Hall into the 22, Hutchinson to sub. Make it happen Mini

Kelly was absolutely shockingly bad today as was Hunt.

Hunt had his usual grubby moments in the contests but overall had a negative impact on the game

Kelly was invisible, I genuinely forgot was playing at stages. By the end of the match I was playing my own mental game of trying to spot him whenever we got a wide camera angle. You'd catch glimpses of him jogging if you looked closely enough

Like it

Could go Gross for Kelly but his WAFL form hasn't been fantastic

Too much wishful thinking from people here listing Shanahan as one of their ins I think, hes been playing KPD, and Bazzo is likely first up to get a game in that space anyway.

Please please please for the love all good. Don't plunk bailey williams full forward for all games Oscar is out for.

What the **** does that make us gain? Sure short term we have a mature body at full forward but really.......

He's not a FF bunghole. Especially in for the future. Wasting FF expirence on him

Reminds me of Fraser Mciness FF.

Play Liam Ryan FF for **** sakes. Anyone other than Bailey Williams FF christ.

It depends though - Allen is a certain out. Hedwards is probably out. Flynn doesn't deserve a spot.
That's two maybe three spots free. Throw Shanahan forward or back, I don't care, he's one of the few that deserves it now on form. Why wait?

Haven't really thought about other changes but Cripps really should be on the chopping block imo. Been a champion for us but he struggles to chase and tackles these days and think the games would be better for someone like Long (even though I'm not big on him currently).

Don't know if any other players we have could have stopped Hollands + Saad having 49 between them off the back flank but watching from the crowd it was pretty obvious he couldn't keep up with them.

I mean, other than the fact that he's been very solid in 2025, kicked a number of great goals, easily eclipsed anyone else we have played across half forward so far this season and was really missed when injured, you could be onto something.

why assume bazzo is in front of shanahan, in particular with mini in charge ?

Shanahan hasnt been playing KPF for at least a month now, seemingly hes being groomed to be a KPD. Thats just how it is, hes a KPD for now.

Bazzo has been playing reasonably well over the last month or so as a KPD too, he deserves a go before Shanahan, partly due to age and him having a more mature body, and also because hes OOC at the end of the year and we need to see what he can do.

Why not?
Id have thought they both have similar strengths, but Bazzo is physically more mature and ready for manning an experienced KPF that the Pies have.
I know Bazzo is far from a gorilla but with Brock the other KPD we know is healthy its a risk to bring in Shanahan too as a first year player - theyre both skinny without much muscle/physical development- especially against the top team over in Melbourne lol.
Why subject Shanahan to that in his debut?
