From the bits I've seen of Morabito playing at Peel he's definitely got the burst part of the equation going but whether he's an upgrade on kicking efficiency on the run or under pressure I don't know. Actually I'd say he's a downgrade at this stage, and that is what everyone is mostly complaining about in Pearce's game.

Ball handling side of things is fair game but after Hill, Mundy, Ballantyne and Walters, Pearce on the run is the next person I'd choose to be delivering in to our 50 and that's represented in the stats.

Saying that I agree. I'd be very keen to see Mora start as the sub and see how it goes for a bit next week.
Sutty might just pip him in the pecking order. Flip of the coin really. SMH at calls to drop Pearce. I bet half of them haven't watched the game but merely wen't off DE from the stat sheet. If you (critics of pearce) watched the games, I don't get why this conversation is even occurring.

Can't take Melbourne lightly or play too much with form but would still consider resting just Sandilands for Griffin.

Other than that no more than one other change, Silvagni or Mcpharlin in for Tabs would be great or Mora if anyone has an injury.

and hopefully Pav's nose will have stopped bleeding by Saturday.

So you want us to rest one of our most important players, leaving Clarke who has had an ordinary last month and Griffin who hasn't played AFL for a year. Yeah but don't want to take them lightly.

Yep, Griffin building nicely in the wafl and can handle the ruck duties, Clarke will be fine once we get a KPD or two back and he's allowed out of defence a bit more.

One change isn't taking them lightly, three would be and as fit as Sandi has looked all season expecting him to play every game without a break is pushing it.

B: Spurr, Dawson, Duffield
HB: Ibbotson, Silvagni/McPharlin, Sutcliffe
C: Hill, Mundy, Crowley
HF: D Pearce, Pavlich, Mayne
F: Ballantyne, Clarke/Griffin, Sylvia
R: Sandilands, Fyfe, Barlow
I/C: Mzungu, Neale, Suban
SUB: Morabito

That teams looks fantastic. Clarke will probably keep his spot. If not, Griffin will come in. Silvagni is more likely than McPharlin to play, but either of them will be a huge plus. Morabito as sub instead of Clancee.

He gets a break in three weeks. Also Seaby is playing well in the WAFL right now, just saying I wouldn't be taking the WAFL stats as proof he is ready to run out a game of AFL.

Maybe but I'd hate to see Freo do the full B team in three weeks time and try to rest half the team. Much rather see one a game for the next few weeks and then just a few for the saints game.

The whole team gets a week off in three weeks, the AFL has a split round coming up. So we have one more bye than we did last year, honestly don't see the need for anyone to have a rest right now.

I know. If we were going to do it, do it a bit closer to finals. The only exeptions I'd make is possibly Fyfe and Clarke. Fyfe apparently has a tight back and Zarke has minor knee issues. Mora can cover for fyfe for one week, and Griff for Zarke.

I'd completely forgotten about that, I just thought bye was a reference to the Saints. Fair enough, bugger them then everybody flys :).

Should be a pretty brief selection meeting this week. If Silvagni and McPharlin both available Silvagni to replace Taberner and Morabito or De Boer to replace Clancee. McPharlin not risked on a wet ground.

Clakkaz looked a little lame, was limping a bit and you'd think he might need a spell.

Griffin comes in for Clarke and maybe rest Sandi the week after to give Griff 2 games.

Tabs out obviously if Luke or Snos are alright.

Maybe Mora in for Sylvia or Clancee but neither did that poorly.

So whats the answer,we in bring players who are weak in home and away and hope they will suddenly blossom in a GF
Hard to fathom your reasoning here
I don't get this whole grand final BS. We lost by less than 3 kicks and had plenty of chances. People also forget we were playing the out and out best team of the last 2 years. Is it just a case of people wanting to blame someone, anyone so they pluck a couple of random moments from a game and base a whole opinion of a players capability and worth on that?

Hawthorn weren't that impressive in September last year. I thought you guys were the best team... nerves on the day cost you the game IMO.

Sandi lost 5kg last time he played in Darwin. If we're going to rest him for any game this should be the one.

I doubt Lyon is on board with the idea of resting anyone though.

All this talk of resting players against a side that was quite damn competitive against a full strength Port side in the Territory earlier in the year, because Freo are basically going to get a free 4 points in their mind, is making me shake my head.

Wait until top 4 is signed and sealed then consider.
You don't rest players because the 4 points are in the bag, you rest players because they will benefit from the rest and avoiding to travel. I don't think it's worth playing Pav in Darwin while he's still having trouble with his snoz.

You also don't rest players when a top 4 spot is so tight and they get a break in three weeks. Resting Pav to get his nose right...you are joking right?
