This weeks dedication goes to a BF SC forum legend Kadog who's had a ripper season so far. Currently ranked 41st on the back of making some ballsy selections earlier in the year. Credit to you for backing your own gut & good luck for the remining rounds, mate. Hopefully Pendles & Jelly return soon and you can give the top10 a shake.
Much obliged AB and to the rest of the SC crew, thank you for being the kentiest bunch of kents that ever kented. Proud to represent this fine forum this week.

Let’s do this.

a place for us to discuss our moves through the year.

we seem to be getting these post's in every thread.

Like the 'Vents and Regrets' & 'Nailed it!' threads?

It feels a bit early to be doing season autopsies, since there is still more than a 1/4 of the season to play out. Let's do some sort of a 'year in review' thread after Rd23 for all that stuff including final rank, final teams, trade history, where it went right and wrong etc so we have something to talk about after the dust settles. If I had to do an autopsy today I would say my season has been successful (rank 670th) but then again I've been ranked inside the top1k at this time of the year several times before and finished up ranked 10k-25k. No point going the early crow or writing our seasons off completely just yet.

The real question for my team this week is which campaigner will go down with an injury/late pullout. I thought last weekend was going to be clean until the Cogs incident.....

Hoping Sicily & Cuners repay some faith bang out 140+

Haven't enough in the kitty for a downgrade to upgrade, so may go a double downgrade this week to ensure I can turn M8 into a premo next week.

Is Logue likely back this week?

Want to go Logue + Clarke > Whitfield + 102k'er next week.

I'm a bit over 40k short of the making the trades this week, so really need Logue to play one more, or Whitfield to absolutely s**t the bed.

And hopefully Ross the dick actually plays Blakely midfield.

He is about the only other coach I know that has Blakely.
Our prayers may be answered Benno!

Sounds like Duman will come in which prob meana logue misses again
Apparently Logue had an average game for Peel so it looks like Duman is likely. Ross is a troll though so you never really know with that campaigner

One of the key decisions facing many this week will be the choice of a final / replacement MID premo to bring in for the home stretch. Several of the major options are covered here (Brice Mitchell does excellent work, well worth a twitter follow, for those not familiar with him already):

And depending on your liquidity and preferences, you could also look at Matt Crouch or Taylor Adams (it would be a clear risk, but he averaged 110+ on the run home last year after coming off injury, so it’s not completely out of the question). Given Sloane, Merrett and Crouch (alongside other premos such as Rory Laird) all play in the round opener, this means you’ll have to lock in trades before Friday’s first bounce, and as both teams are fighting for places in the eight to boot, there’s a bit at stake.

Essendon vs Adelaide
Essendon:

Being a Zach Merrett owner has not been easy of late, despite the solid 109 on the weekend. His 5-rd avg sits around 100, which isn’t getting the job done at a time of year when we ideally want the best premos at the peak of their form, like #fyfeislife and big Josh Dunkley. His price has dropped to a shade under 500k, which is a bargain if you think he can return to his form thru the bye, which saw him average better than 110 and be a genuine low ownership POD. If you do go him, a piece of advice: Avoid watching Essendon games as you will be tearing your hair out at times as he is either parked on the bench or just not getting his hands on it for 10-15 minutes at a time. You’ll age a year a quarter.

Despite the tribulations of owning Zach Merrett this year, Dangerfield told reporters he has no regrets and felt great sbout the decision.

Michael Hurley put in an injury-impacted score in the naughty 40s and he will miss games, making him irrelevant from here on in and in all likelihood on to move on if he is currently in your squad.

Darcy Parish (81), Andrew McGrath (67), Dylan Shiel (62) and even the one and only Shauny Smackdog McKernan (55) failed to register standout scores in what was a pretty even team performance in crushing a dispirited Suns outfit. Parish was probably the only genuine disappointment, as some may have jumped on him during his recent hot streak, hoping that it might be his breakout.
Of more relevance were two Essendon rookies, Dylan Clarke registering a more than acceptable 78 to serve as a useful loop-in for some (your correspondent thought long and hard about just taking his score and not rolling the dice on Angus Brayshaw, only to decide to back his premo in to get the job done - nek minit Brayshaw squirted out a delightful faecally contaminated 42) and kickstart his cash generation anew for others. His BE has dropped back to 37, and with a current price of 278k, Clarke looks set to break through the 300k barrier by tradeout for those still holding and not looking to just retain as cover.

The other was Zac Clarke, who had had a really shaky return to the AFL since he didn’t give off the handball over the top and chose to take a shot from 30-odd he went on to miss in his first game back against the Dees earlier in the year. His 88 was his first real score of any note and should see him retain his spot for now and also start to increase in price, making it at least possible to trade him out at a decent profit late in the year if it looks like you won’t need his cover over the last 2-3 rounds. He’s now up to 234k. Not one to jump on, but given his surprisingly high ownership, he’s happily not one to jump off for the time being, either. Better late than never.

Adelaide:
The Crows sport several widely held and widely considered premos, particularly in the MID line.

Rory Sloane will be a popular addition given the Crows’ run home and his consistent scoring output. He’ll set you back 544k, so his price has already recovered a fair bit and he represents less value than others. But given we’re all pretty low on trades, value is less of a consideration than it was.

Matt Crouch is cheaper at 510k and represents slightly better value because he missed more time than Sloane his scoring output tends to be consistent, meaning he appreciates slowly. He has a 5-rd average of 105 and is capable of 105-110. He is not one to go for if you feel you could do with a higher ceiling type in upcoming matchups, he is much more the raised floor type.

His brother Brad Crouch is slightly more expensive at 515k and has a lower full-year average (pretty much 100 on the dot), and with Zerrett and others costing less and having a better risk profile, putting Matt aside for a minute, he seems destined to garner little attention.

Rory Laird was slightly down in output with a 91, but that probably had something to do with him and the other Adelaide DEFs putting on pillow fights, playing the odd round of Twister and giving each other pedicures while the pill was constantly down the other end of the ground. He’d set you back 520k, which for a 98 average on the year isslight overs (the impact of Brodie Smith and Luke Brown having become apparent), and there are other DEF options you can look at in preference, but he is a solid pick if you do go him who has little potential to backfire.

The Crows' backline boys rated the experience a close second to being tied up naked to a tree with a bee's nest with honey on their peckers while the Richmond theme song was played on repeat in the background.#collectivemindftw

Wayne Milera proved the doubters (gee whiz, you’d have to be an idiot to have bagged him during his recent dry spell) wrong with a virtuoso 114, clearly validating the decision of those ultra-savvy coaches who grabbed him around the byes. Yeah, nah, he’s still a s**t-truck and a player in his role should make hay in such a one-sided contest, but at least he didn’t cost owners league matchups and, to be fair, had he kicked straight against Port the week before, he could have registered a 90-odd there, too. And the back injury was just one of those things, it happens.

But if you’re thinking of trading Thrillera in, cut all of your fingers off to prevent you from confirming the trade, then have someone else put you in a straight jacket and put you on a plane to Manus Island. You know it makes sense.

Young Wayne was buoyed by the news that his parents would be in the stands to cheer him on.

Reilly O’Brien was handily beaten by Jarrod Witts (who has put together a strong season and developed into a leader, good stuff, Wittsy :thumbsu:), finishing on 73. But he’s reached 520k, which is absolutely stellar and anyone who moved on a non-Grawndy R2 for him earlier in the year made out like a bandit and gave themselves a great attacking platform mid-year). If Max Gawn is the one you’re planning to trade him out to, you could wait one week as Gawn has a massive BE of 226 this week and will bleed cash.

Captain America even had the VC on Big Sexy in round 13. No flies on the Captain. Currently top two in the Avengers SC Cashie with a game in hand on 3rd.

On the rookie front, Tyson Stengle (124k on the bubble next week at the earliest) played his first game for the Crows and scored quite well (69), but the Crows are experimenting with their forward mix and he’s no certainty to get three games on the trot, let alone play out the season from here.

Those looking at him should see what Crows fans have to say, they're best placed to judge.

Nah, mate, was mostly laughing at myself (proud new owner of superstar Anoos Brayshit, traded out Junkley (to Marshall at least, small mercies and all that), just trying to see the funny side of it.
