This one?

He also kicked a great soccer goal out of mid air against the Pies around the same time when we got belted by them.

He provided some rare bits of sunshine for us back in some dark times, a shame we never had him at his best when we were a good team.

actually it is not that one , he kicked the ball on the volley - just shows how much of a freak Steven was.

this is the goal - it's against the Tigers

Just on Jack Steven he was one of the ambassadors last night. Going off the footage of him next to Ross he looks in a good place now.

We have been crying out for a good young midfielder to arrive, well we have got one now with Windhager, he took a big step up last night.

Owens was good in the middle too when he had some stints in there, those two were a real driving force in us getting on top in the 2nd half.

SOS seemed to be the only one at Carlton that rated him, Stocker was his pick, no surprise that he got him over to us when he was delisted.

He has been a great get for us, hopefully Dow will be as well.
Sometimes it just comes down to personality conflicts , a player gets tainted by a past club legend and his then pushing sh/t up hill.

Stockers knock was he didn't have a tank , which is a joke because a lot of these kids in the draft have never been given elite training and for a kid who is not a elite runner you need a few years to even get up too standard , which Stocker was not really given considering the problems he had. - amazing how a bit of faith and encouragement does for a player.

Dow was more or less condemned by Diesel Williams and was never really given a a good run after that.
He was given games in his rookie year but he just wasn't ready at that time.

Hopefully he excels for us , no matter what people say about him - he gets the football and has the speed to cut teams up , I hope he does it to Carlton.

He was a slow burn and poor kick early on. He came good after Carlton had already recruited a few good mids who took his spot.

Irrespective of Kings action the club must challenge so a to back their player who has FINALLY added a physical element to his game, and to send a message that we're not just gonna take it in the rear every time the AFL say so.

Henry and Mase is awful news but we've got Lance, Gus, Hugo, Hammer and Ari all ready to go, so it's backs to the wall again and fight like rabid dogs. Windhager's team is going places.
My favourite sentence so far this year.

That's taken some of the gloss off the win, hopefully they appeal it and it gets overturned but that's unlikely with our record at the tribunal.
6 weeks for a Henry ha.string. that's so .... sad. More gloss off the win.

Omg how good was Pete Murray last night.
That has to be Spuds song from now on.
Tears yes but inspiration as well.

Great song.

Hopefully next time they will let him play the whole song instead of cutting it short like they did last night.

Just listened to Cornes and King talk about the game - they talked for 12 minutes about the game - the first 10 was all about how poor the Pies were - only one Saint was mentioned in that time (compared to about the whole Pies squad) and that was how Seb Ross shut down DeGoey.

The last 2 minutes King gave us a big wrap - said we are way better than last year.
Cornes was a wait and see , saying we are about 3 stars short on being true premiership contenders - I must say it is to early to make any big calls but we do look far more dangerous than last year.

If anyone thinks we ARENT 3 stars short of Premiership contention they're got blinkers on. As RTB said, still work to do

Gotta laugh at supporters of a club complaining about the umpiring when their players do stuff like this

Also had more force than Kings citation, also more intent, also was a charge, where's the rough conduct charge?

We looked far more dangerous with King and Henry firing but they could both be out next week.

We can still be dangerous but not as dangerous without them.

Having said all that - is there any chance we can ever field close to our best team for a sustained run? Getting sick of being up against it week after week
It's very very deflating.

It was only 4-5 weeks ago the list was looking great.....only a couple of injuries.....and they weren't long term ones.

I often wonder/dream what we'd be like with a sustained run of minimal injuries.....you'll always get some as it's a contact sport.

2009 was that absolute dream year for injuries.

WTF is it with injuries and St Kilda? We get one back and lose two plus King if we cant over turn his suspension. After watching the VFL today we are pretty thin as far as depth goes. Shoenmaker could possibly play the Bonner role and as mentioned move Bonner up to a wing. Butler is not ready but I guess he could stand up if required to fill Henry's position. If the King suspension stands I guess Caminiti is the player to fill the hole.

Crouch is no where near ready he is still playing with a very suspect knee.
