I thought the prior conviction thing/ carry over points was scrapped. There's no way he will go for that.
I wonder how they feel about letting Christiensen and Varcoe go now.. They tried to run and gun against the sharpest team in the comp, it was never going to end well. Gonna be a tough job for our match committee this week!

That handball in the last out to Fyfe which led to Pav's goal was epic. Dived at the feet of two Port players, pinched the ball and shot out the hand pass in one motion. Was a big moment and showed a tonne of class. He won't be going anywhere
It was a good game from him after a few bad kicks in the first it was hard to fault him. Loved his hands in close just knows how to put players into space and with more games under his belt you would hope to see his confident in his game improve.

His priors will hurt him.
It was careless and deliberate . It was essentially thuggery and a bad look for the game. ( his intention was to hurt Mitchell ).
Cats fans can rightly be pissed at him if he's rubbed out. That'll one of their better midfielders missing, along with Bartel, although I thought he was pretty ordinary today before he was knocked out.

He also let off a pretty tidy handball in the opening minutes under pressure which released someone (can't remember who) but it was quick and perfectly timed and placed.

Silvagni would have to come in if he's right, given Geelong's 2 genuine tall forwards. So if Taberner, Mzungu and Silvagni came in, you need 3 outs - Mayne, Suban, and one of the Pearces for me. Sorry Danyle

Not sure if serious.

Also, not sure if Alex has already gotten over his hammy. I would prefer to keep him on ice and play him against Sydney - no need for travel, important home game (rare against the Swans), and he has consistently shown the ability to give Buddy Franklin a bath. On balance, we'll need him more for that clash, particularly with Dawson out and Tippet to mind as well.

Geelong's forwards looked slow today. Think there's no need to tamper with our back six. Hawkins and Mitch Clark won't be able to catch our rebounding defenders. They also kicked terribly, like us, when trying to hit targets in their forward 50. They'll likely be more on song next round, but as long as McPharlin and johno can do the same shut down jobs they did on butcher and Schulz, I think we'll have the edge.

Anyone know why Hamish Macintosh didn't play today? Think we really have the ruck advantage over Geelong.

I'd go over and ask on their board but I might wait a little while for tempers to cool...

Ahhh heck em! What are they going to do? Beat you to death with harsh words typed in anger? :p

Yes I was there, he was good. But I'd want to drop 3 from that team to have a proper structure, and its very tough to do. By that I mean Ibbo can't be expected to play as a tall every week, and Mayne is not a Key Forward's a-hole. So Silvagni and Taberner have to come in if available. The 3rd one is Mzungu, and he is best 18 every day of the week, so he has to come in.
Oh and on past form I'd be staggered if DP gave us 2 high quality games in succession.

we beat a quality team without picking our best side, which is great. But that doesn't mean we keep picking the guys that got the win if a better team is available to select.

Just heard Rossco on 6PR and he said Silvagni is about two weeks away and Dawson will play "in the early rounds".

No relief on the tall defender front unless we want to risk Alex Pearce.

We only need to get the ball to ground, Geelong forwards are slow as a wet week.

Lucky Ibbo can play tall then. so maybe just Taberner and Mzungu in for Mayne and Suban?

Love the confidence but Cats coming off a heavy loss, down at Symonds are gonna be fired up. Should be another cracker
