Tried to stick up for suban before the game but he really didnt do me any favours. At least d and c pearce played alright. I think clancee could be a good matchup for joel duckwood. Both strong, not particularly quick and clancee will match him overhead.

For me suban out for either lachlan weller or mzungu. I dont think that match commitee trust the first year players to run afl level games out or consistently be in the right spot defending so I think suban for mz the only change.

In Crozier, Mzungu
Out Suban, Deboer (unlucky)

Crozier because of his game at Catland last year. Can give us the option of giving Walters some midfield time.

Out: Suban, Mayne, Barlow
In: Mzungu, Blakely, Crozier (sub)

Blakely in this week to see how he handles the pace and pressure against a top level side. Reckon he'll stand up.

Yes, I think RTB should drop Barlow. Barlow fans will hate me, our delivery into the forward line needs to be weighted kicks to leading space or flat bullet passes to leading forwards. Finals has no room for sentiment and better to drop him now and get him working on it then drop him on the eve of the finals. He kicked loopy flower bags all night and created contests when he should have found a lead up forwards.

Barlow had a poor game by his standards and his disposal was terrible. However there is no way in hell he's being dropped. Ross will have a chat to him but he had a rusty pre season and that'll be that. No way is he being dropped especially not against Geelong...at the cattery! *insert pic of Barlow grabbing his guernsey here*

Won't happen. Nothing to do with being a fan or sentiment. It's the 25 disposals, 9 marks, 5 inside 50's and 2 goal assists that is compelling.
Barlow would be prone to errors under fatigue especially given he has had an interrupted preseason. It's better for him to sharpen up in the team rather than not. He'll be better for the run and another week on the track.

Lol there goes any credibility that you might have had. Barlow is playing next week.
Not about credibility, I picked my side so you can pick yours and we'll all go away and call it an opinion. I know he'll play. He needs to be working on forward delivery because with the kids coming on we'll see him move down the pecking order unless he improves a lot on yesterday's game. Sure he is in any case, but that was closer to Priddis than Mitchell.

Out: C Pearce, Mayne and Suban

In: Mzungu for Pearce, Taberner in for Mayne and Crozier in for Suban.

Pearce did nothing wrong, really, but Mzungu is an upgrade on him in the defensive mid/run with role. Crozier in over Blakely and Weller because he has the runs on the board against Geelong and is also the most experienced of the three.

Sounds like he kept Boak quiet.
Disagree on Clancee doing a great job. Boak got ten last quarter possessions and RTB didnt exactly give C.Pearce a glowing endorsement in his post match press conference. He might be a surprise out next week with Tab and Gu to come into the team. Perhaps Mayne and Suban out and De Boer and Clancee swap roles with Clancee playing as a sub and De Boer the starting tagger.

Hasleby's idea of playing Barlow on the opposition's best mid has merit in my view. C.Pearce will get exposed in the air if he plays on either Selwood or Johnson. For mine, the tagging/primary negating role should be rotation of players now that we dont have Crowley.

Id prefer Crozier to play as the sub personally, but I dont think that will happen.

Sutty was still running strong at the end of the game
He also did a better job of shutting down a rotation of Gray/White/Neade then he is being given credit for. Despite being named in our best players in the Worst I thought Duffield should have done better matched up on the terrible Butcher and playing as a loose man role.

White didn't have much influence at all did he? From my view his trademark run and carry, breaking lines Dudnt happen.

DeBoer and Clancee are better tacklers, Mz is a good aerialist. Prefer to see Barlow play to his strengths, inside contested work, marking, handballing.

Hmm the calls for Barlow's head is a bit harsh. Even in his worst game, he's still best 22. And I doubt he'll have two bad games in a row. He'd waltz into any team in the comp's starting lineup so you wouldn't drop him unless he had a string of bad form, or was genuinely injured.

It's great not thinking about the MRP lottery that was last years MRP after every game. Hopefully I haven't spoken too soon but I think the MRP might actually make a little sense this year.

Only change I want is Suban out Mzungu in. If somehow Suban doesn't get dropped and Mayne is sore, throw Mzungu in the forward flank. He can easily get 2 or 3 goals a game there. Should Duffy or Blakey get a game rotating up in the middle and up forward too? Any news on Brady Grey?

Out:

Mayne

Suban

In:

Taberner. We need to have 2 genuine talls. That forward structure was horrific again yesterday and unless the resting ruck is there 100% of the time (not going to happen), Harry Taylor is going to sit 20m in front of the last pair and chop everything off. Good WAFL game for Tabs this week too.

Mzuznunguuuu. Better than Suban in every way save perhaps the one time a game he gets in space on his left.

Yep.

Tabs has to come in. Our forward line was pretty poor last night with Pav being our only marking target.

DeBoer to stay in.

Out- Suban , Sutcliffe
In- Mzungu , Tabs

Sutcliffe to stay in if Mayne does not come up from his ankle on the weekend.

I also think that Blakely should get more games in for Peel instead of being named as an emergency that will not play.

Crozier is ideal as an emergency. Excellent replacement and perfect if any small forward, midfielder does not come up.
No chance of Sutcliffe being dropped.

There is no way Sutcliffe will get dropped. Did a very good job on wingard most of the night and will need his speed and agility against the likes of stokes and motlop.

Do agree that we need Tabs to come in to provide another target up forward.
