We'll improve no doubt, but I don't think we'll get to another grand final.

Dont know, not thinking that far ahead]

But intensity up

Kids look promising/ready

And upside to come from key players

Considering what we had missing and the injury to Tippett that was a pretty good performance, reality is we need to win next week tho cant be 0-3.

Reid my god could this be his breakout season certainly making a few on here look foolish.
Right when he is coming out of contract...

Really dissapointed that the umpires continue to have such a big say in the outcome of our games against this mob.

Reid was colossal tonight kicking 6 goals and missed one he should have got

Buddy went bang and turned the game to give us a chance.

Kids were great tonight, even though its been a rough start to the year we keep on finding good young players

Tippetts being Tippett

When are the umpires going to get a song the dogs can play instead of this drivel.

I hope the AFL come out and ask some hard questions of the umpiring department.
Bit harsh on Tippet. Not harsh enough on umpires who absolutely won the game again.

I did admit that only two free kicks stood out as particularly egarious, but that was because they lead to two direct Bulldogs goals. I'm sure I probably ignored plenty of dodgy free/non-frees throughout the game.

Anyway with umpiring off my chest:

* Great to see Reid going someway to living up to his potential. I was close to writing him off for the last 3 seasons, but 9 goals in 2 games, both of which we lost is a great start to a season.
* Have my babies Buddy. Those two goals in the last quarter...freakish. Regardless of losing grand finals and the length of his deal, I'm very happy it happened.
* Where the **** is Hannebery? At least Parker started to get more involved later in the game. Anyway that's two below par games in a row that they've had (3 if you count the granny). Kennedy can't do it on his own....
* Would've been interesting if Tippett didn't go down given how dominant Reid and Franklin were at times. Could've overwhelmed them in the air.
* I don't get why Harry Cunningham is still a thing. If Brandon Jack has been permanently jettisioned for being shit, so should Richie.
* Great to see some nice young talent. Hayward looks all class, Newman did some nice things too.
* Overall vastly improved from last week, but it's still 0-2. Lose next week and our season could go down the drain fast.

Reid wow, what a game. Wonder what Collingwood will be offering him. He's looking good.

Parker barely in the middle all night, him and hanners aren't right. Hewett taking Mitchell's time in the middle.

Hayward was great, looks a player. Have that pace and pressure in the forward line with Rohan, Papley and Kizza will keep it locked in there a lot more.

The key to beating the Clarkson and Co game style is come forward defend. Need players reading the play peeling off and intercepting. And consistency in umpiring wouldn't hurt.

Cunners laughing with Wood 10 seconds after the game ended, he just doesn't get it.

It's not lucky.
It's f***ing payback by the VFL mafia and we are over it.

If you guys are so brave play a game - just one game - without ump assistance. It's pathetic.
It's not the dogs fault though mate. They are playing to the interpretation afforded to them by second rate, part time, inefficient, unprofessional umpires.

The issue is with consistent application & interpretation of the rules. Somehow it feels like we are playing unser different rules contest to contest.

Looking at the pure stats it's clear there is a trend. So either the umpires are actually corrupt (be it "from higher up" or elsewhere) or, the likely scenario, the dogs know what interpretations to exploit against us &/or specific players.

Not the dogs fault if they are deemed to be following the rules.

The umpires & AFL though. That is a different story completely.

Bit harsh on Tippet. Not harsh enough on umpires who absolutely won the game again.
It is harsh on Tippet but dead set, whats the point of playing him if he constantly gets injured. The one good thing here is Cameron gets to play and we get a third tall who can kick goals,

Things I learnt: I am slowly giving up on this sport...what is the point of being so invested when the umpires consistently screw us over. Bulldogs got all the 50/50s and then if that wasn't enough they got some of the most ridiculous calls I have seen. Throws galore too not paid. (Well ok in reality I love the Swans too much to give it up but it is just so frustrating and it is almost becoming unbearable to watch - it is just not fun anymore).

Like we all don't already know but this game just confirmed once more what a game changer Buddy can be. Absolute legend. Reid was awesome, young players were promising. Loved the way we fought back.

Huge concerns with the fitness of our star mids. They are really battling at the moment, especially Parker.

Younger players looked good and expected that they run out of legs. Reid is playing like a star, huge loss last year. Aliir was rusty but warmed into the game. Umpires gave him no help.

Much better performance than last week though. Next week a must win obviously.

I really wish some high profile commentator would have our back on this one.

Longmire won't say anything because people will think we are sooking.

But no because everyone has a hard on for the bravedogs. This is serious bullshit.

I really feel like crying. I've lost hope. Not with the club but with the league.

I don't care if the umpires are blowing the whistle but call the same both ways. If we were sloppy then that's our fault but this was just blatant cheating.

Another point - when was the last time we conceded 110+ points in consective weeks? Our defence looks a lot shittier than it has in the past, though I'll grant midfield weaknesses has something to do with it.

Hewett and Florent died in the second half

Hewett's first half was, I thought, immense, and a clsss above any of our players out there.

And then he vanished, as you say. I expect it from Florent. Hewett must do better at this stage of his career (I know he was a very young draftee.

I was expecting us to lose that game, but in a more embarrassing fashion than we did, so in that sense it's a win. We were right in it for most of it.

Our third quarter was abysmal, though, from basically everyone on the park.

Aliir worked into it. Mills seems a bit stagnant. Hannebery has regressed massively. Cunningham I don't want to see again, frankly.
