Long has been underwhelming, although I think long term he’ll be a very good player,
He will be under pressure.
If Hewett’s kick in the 3rd had been one inch the over and he’d goaled instead of hitting the post??? He has too stay in, one of the best talents to come out of WA in recent years, he has to stay in and keep building.
He needs a month or so in the WAFL getting hands on the footy really. Love his footy Iq and touch but I do question if he does make it with his lack of size and speed.

Flying back from Queensland from a close humid game, against a desperate team who have stayed in WA the past two weeks, wouldn't be surprised if Eagles are non competitive here. Wins will come but need to see the forest from the trees. Essendon at home will likely be our first win and we'll have a few more in the second half of the season.

This week backing up from that time slot and travel schedule expect some changes.

J Williams for A Reid an obvious one.

Graham in for Petro

Waterman for Long / Brockman

And H Edwards out for Brock. Freo talls too quick for Harry. Amiss will slaughter him on the lead.

Not sure if you've bothered to watch Freo this year(understandable if you haven't) but they don't kick to leading players...

Yeah Id love to put Freo down the bottom but think the physical toll will be too much.
Reckon we get the Blues at gather round but.

play long as an on baller all year in the wafl. Wasted as a forward
Have a bunch of nga small forwards coming through too. Champion at some point jn the next couple of years, gross/hewett/Reid can play fwd.

Makes sense to move him to the middle

Yeah malakai, just meant we are/will be well stocked, while the midfield is a bit short on depth

Koby Evans is the one to watch out for. Same height as Reid and already had a couple of BoG performances in the preseason playing as a mid.

Keen to see some highlights and stuff when the u18s year starts, sounds like the nga is gonna pay off and be our own little cheat code haha

Well, now we can actually benefit from it, the club's supposedly put a lot more work into developing players through it.

We're disadvantaged in pretty much every other way, so will be good to have our own production line.

To be fair my guy, is there any actual evidence the bloke can play midfield, let alone at AFL level?

I know he was a mid in JNRS and got shoehorned into being a forward in the Champs because Vic Country was so stacked, but that doesn't necessarily mean he was a capable one.

I'd be more inclined to get him plying his trade at whatever the long term role at AFL level is... i'm guessing a forward. He's got plenty of work to do in that area before i'd be worrying about him having the ability to find the footy and play mid.

Thankfully Beagles are shit enough you could basically play Cale Morton in there as a rover and it'd be an improvement, so why not Schlong

Will be interesting who doesn't come up recovery/injury.

Out
Long, a reid petch

In
Graham, Bo JWilliams

Brochman sub
Hall to start

If A Reid doesn't recover well enough or needs a rest I agree with your changes JW.
Graham is obvious one.
Johnstone was 1 of the emergencies last game, I would think he is in front of Bo at this stage.
Out
Long, A Reid, Petch
In
JW, Graham,
Johnstone sub

Players from Brissy game lost kg's so you would think a few fresh players would come in ....
Bo Allan for one maybe J Williams another to play .
Hamish Davis maybe rough chance at a guess and Graham .

Thanks for that.

Amiss now a shoe in to kick 10 on Harry this weekend.
You really should see how bad Freo's entries are before assuming Amiss(who's been dogshit this year) will kick 1 goal, let alone multiple.

All they do it kick high up and unders into their forward line the entire game and wonder why they don't score.

Been doing it for 5 years now.

Depends on which West Coast outfit turns up.

If we're gassed from last week then I expect a repeat of the Gold Coast game, where Freo pick out dudes standing by themselves in their forward line all day.

If we are up for the contest then the game is gonna be a bomb-fest with both sides lobbing 60m skyhooks into each other's attacking 50. Our forward entries havent been great either.

Last game we seemed to bomb long and then switch to lowering eyes and hitting a target.

Distinctly different methods. Are we bombing long to get the defense to defend deep? Then when they start falling back with go short and hit up targets?

There was two distinct methods last game.

Yo blokes, what's the word/ thoughts on the BJW sub and A Reid cramps after the weekend?
Would love to see jacky boy Williams get a crack. I Missed the first half on Sunday didn't see it all. Flynn a chance for recall? Bjw not listed as injured though.
Bless up brothers.

Ps. Flynn is.. ehhh

If BW is fine, that I'd continue playing him over Flynn. He's proven to be pretty resilient over the past few years.
Would only bring in Jilliams if Arch needs a rest.
