Very unlucky for any player from last week.

Being the form side of the comp sometimes injuries are the only cause for change. I hope Muz stays in for his run and carry. DeBoer or Suban to sub.

I have a weird feeling Gu might miss out. Just the way Ross has talked about him in interviews lately hasn't been very encouraging.
Could be just keeping him keen I guess but he seems determined to back in Suban and Deboer at the moment and he loves Clancee.

You'd think that of the seven on the bench - Barlow, Ballantyne and Neale would all be certainties in the best 21. Hannath would be an EMG. But that leaves Mzungu, Crozier and Clancee all fighting for the green vest. Suban and MdB seem to be safe.
Geez it's a tough gig being on the fringes of this team!

Ballantyne owes the club (and us fans) a huge one this weekend. Didn't really offer much in the opening rounds and then got rubbed out for 2 weeks.

Ballas to kick 5 goals.

I think he was very flattering to Gu after the Sydney game, especially in relation to his spoil. I think he'll be starting 22 this week or worst case scenario sub.

De Boer and Suban really proved themselves to me as well, and Clancee is good so hard to see who Ballantyne comes in for unless someone i.e. Mayne is injured. Crozier and Hannath may just be rewarded for good form.

What about Barlow as sub? He hasn't been his usual productive self this season...
He was pretty handy down in Geelong. I think people are paying too much attention to supercoach scores. He wasn't even that quiet against the Egirls. Last week he was quiet, but it's really only been that one game.

I guess I am the only one who thinks Suban has been pretty ordinary again this year. He was good last week, but that's his first good game for the year. He still gets caught HTB way too much. And rarely gets more than 12-14 touches.

Suban had zero free kicks against last game.
One against the Eagles.
One against the Cats.
Three against Port.

Which ones were holding the ball?

I saw that too geez the umpires are spineless how is that not a holding the man free it was so obvious.
Ps freo need to manage Barlow he's looking old and tired I'd hate to see him burnt out around finals time.

Too right. They are spineless. It would only take one or two calls of that sort of BS and players would stop doing it. Can't understand for the life of me why they don't call it.

Barlow is fine. He's looked old from the start IMHO. Players like Johno and Mayne are more the worry for me. They're already carrying things from what I can tell and have a recent history of dropping off markedly when injured, though Mayne's may well have been very temporary.

As for changes this week, unless there is a genuine injury issue (unlikely) then it's going to be really tough. I wonder if Neale a smoky to come out. Ross did make a passing inference that Neale's game was a bit of chalk/cheese performance wise from the previous week - i.e. it wasn't just that he was in a different role. Can't read too much into that I suppose, but it's going to be tough to pull somebody out.

My bet would be DeBoer who last week played the closest position wise to where Balla plays.

Why Clancee? RTB has been giving him big love. Suban & MDB seem to be safe only because they get selected. Gu got love during the week as well. As usual its MTB & Subes under the microscope IMO.

I want mzungu in even more than I want to see ballantyne back. Mz is that midfielder who just doesnt stop running late in quarters. If deboer and suban are only average I wouldnt mind seeing one go out to give one of duffy or crozier a go.

I thought Suban played very well last week, and I don't see him getting dropped. Clancee threw himself into everything and he epitomised the Freo gamestyle I thought. His second efforts were rewarded.

Why are we playing Walters if (as is rumoured) he is sore???
Walters to rest, Ballantyne in could be the change. If Mayne is also sore rest him too and add Crozier.

Yeah maybe rest Walters, he's definitely not 100%, he's form has been ordinary this year, nowhere near where he was a few years ago.

i was leaning towards this sentiment myself ,and i love the bloke
then i watched the replay of the sydney game
suban stays full stop
same same ,MDB
i say out tabs in ballas,
the result is our best 22 on paper in my opinion
tabs ,a bit stiff but with clarke starting to take big grabs he's surplus to requirements and still a project
