So because they have a slow midfield we can select the slowest guys on our list because it doesnt matter. Wouldn't we be better off picking some quicker guys to exploit them in this department if it's a weakness?

Also Duffield shouldn't have been dropped after one bad game, was still averaging more disposals (even after last weeks shocker) than a third of our list. I just cant see how dropping him to bring in Cook (who is one of my favs by the way) is beneficial to our list now, or in the future.

Do we have any quality quick guys ready for selection though? I certainly wouldn't be picking Walker just for his pace, Ibbo's not ready yet and Peake's probably a week or two away. Always nice to see Cookie in the team too.

Agree with everyone on Duff though. If he is down on confidence or struggling to adapt to the speed of AFL I can't see how dropping him every second week is going to help. He needs to be given a chance to find his feet and cement his place. He's certainly not the slowest player on our list.

Well the whole WAFL is on a bye this weekend, so it doesn't affect anyone if they make a late change in terms of missing out on a game for their WAFL club to "find some form".... Duffman might just come in. Cookie certainly didn't set the world alight for Perth last weekend.

Happy with the changes. The forecast has changed from showers heavy later to cloudy with a shower or two, if the rain doesn't eventuate we may see Duffman come in for Cook. I'm confident Cookie will play well if he gets a run.

Saints backmen may try to rough up Collard early, he'll be glad to have Solomon down in the forward line with him.

Credit to Connolly for selecting Collard, Warnock and Campbell when his neck is on the line.

He's not in the 25 so we'd face a fine if he did come in.

Amongst all this we shouldn't forget Warnie (flipper) gets his chance to run out in front of the purple army.
I'm looking forward to seeing the second of the twin towers playing tomorrow.

Ps. Peake. emergency ? Must be Freo telling the Saints they will see your collarbone and raise you a collarbone. Lenny...your kidding !

It is seven weeks since Peaker did his collarbone.

It is only 3 weeks for Lenny.
Usually a six week injury.

What are you smoking inferno.

Walker has had about 9 years to fit into the team.

The game against Geelong will probably be his last game in the side.

Walker was a regular player in our side until last year. The week before Geelong game Walker was one of the best on ground. He did have a shocking game against Geelong. But at the moment we need pace in our side.

FWIW IMO maybe they are saying by dropping Duff and Walker that you need consistency and playing isnt a guarantee, you need to earn your place. Cook adds grunt and pressure, that we were lacking.

Collard deserves his chance, arguably Campbell deserves his place too.

Saints board are saying Hayes and Rix are out of the selected side for tonights game. I cant find any links to see how true it is tho. They would have to be stupid to play Hayes 4 weeks into a broken collarbone...

He would definitely get targetted by Solomon and Cook you would think. Just to say "hi", and "how's the recovery coming along?".

Great news too see Collard in the side.

No idea why Cook consistently gets dropped yet players like M Carr who make as many blunders without the toughness remain.

Agree with those that say it was a bit early to drop Duffield...Good to see Wakler out though.

The slowness has a bit to do with decision making as well, last year we played on at every chance we had and it made us look a bit quicker than we probably are. Think that attitude/gameplay should come into play tonight, the saints are going to flood like last week against the hawks. If we move the ball quicker forward taking the first option we may be able to nulify the flooding tactics. Easier said than done i know
