Round 9 Teams

I understand that it will be raining in Perth tomorrow. From memory, the Round 5 game against Hawthorn at Aurora was the Eagles only rain-affected one this season. I was just trying to compare the proposed Round 9 team to the squad that played the Hawks in the rain.

There are 5 players which played the Hawks, but aren't in the line-up against Collingwood. They're Hansen, Staker, Jones, Stenglein and Schofield. I know stats aren't the be all and end all, but check this out:

The average stats of those five players against Hawthorn in the rain were as follows:

8.8 disposals
61% effective disposal
3.4 contested possessions
0 points scored
0.2 goal assists
0.2 frees for
1.2 frees against
2.6 clangers
1.0 inside 50's
0.6 rebound 50's

I'm certain the 6 different players in the proposed Round 9 squad compared to that Round 5 squad, Ebert, Masten, Kennedy, Scott Selwood, Cockie and Seaby, will offer better returns. Although, with their height and weight, I'm a little concerned about Kennedy and Seaby playing on a slippery ground, and suspect they will each have a fairly quiet night. I think Leon Davis is going to be the B.O.G. for the Pies, so maybe we should just have Kennedy sit on Davis. :p

Given the week rest, the cooler temperature forecasted (hopefully he can keep his fluids down) and the possibility of a lack of a tag, I expect Kerr to have a great game against the Pies.

C'mon the Eagles.

Are you kidding? That's the most ridiculous post ever. You'd have Lynch sit on Davis every time before Kennedy.

On paper we should have the team to give the Pies a little touch up tonight but obviously the weather is going to play a big part in it. Go Eagles!!

hopefully thats the last of the showers gone, should be a cracker of a game. Verry happy with the changes, just hope that kerr is fully fit. Go eagles!
