Surprised by the omission of Bones, whilst he has been below form most of the year thought he actually showed a little more last week..

Would of also expected him to be the obvious matchup for Anthony.

Very dissapointed that Ebert got a game before Houlihan. Also I am pretty sure Brown's been named in the forward line before but played back. We really shouldn't lose this game it will be interesting to see how much we've matured since last year.

Couldn't agree more. What more does the bloke have to do to get a game, been tearing up the WAFL for over a month now. Rant over.

I am a massive fan of Ebert though, really strong overhead and links up well. I can see him playing a similar role to RoJo back in the day, but with the ability to kick.

LOL, i see L Brown gets as much love as on the pies board, hes worthless.

Eagles side looks strong on paper, should win by about 40 points.

Poor anthony has no support whatsoever in that foward line.

please not wirra on davis, leon is a gun and will cut wirra up offensively. whilst wirra will get touches i think they'll try to exploit wirra's lack of accountability at times.

gotta put wirra on their shittest forward.

can someone explain to me why you would bring hunter in if it's wet?

what will he add in a wet weather game? wouldnt we be more likely to bring a small back in.

either way, i'd keep seaby in. it enables lynch to play as a full time forward.

i thought the forecast said it wasnt going to rain anyway...

You guys should make Kerr your SC captain. He struggles with the hard tag sometimes but Mick isn't aware of this amazing phenomonon. He will dominate.

Why?

Ebert has a much bigger body, had better form on the weekend and can play on the inside.

Houlihan is as outside as it comes. With rain forecast why bring in a link man?

Agreed.

Hurn on Lockyer wil be a stern test for Bunga.

We don't need inside. We have Kerr, Priddis and Masten who are all inside. Its mostly a matter of rewarding form. Houlihan is clearly the best player in the WAFL at the moment. Would be leading the Sandover by a country mile if he was eligible.

Man Not happy Jmac has been Dropped thought he played really well last 2 weeks.
Thought maybe Rosa would have come out but I think that if the weather stays as it is then Seaby or Brown will be dropped for JMAC.

Not eligible cos he's on an AFL list?

Or did he get suspended?

Im certain Priddis won it in 06, and it was such a good effort considering cos he played considerably less games than the others because he played a handful for us

No he didn't

Yes he did.

Won it in 2006, also played his first game for West Coast in the same year.

You need inside players in the wet. Horses for courses. Masten isnt inside yet.

Houlihan wouldnt be top 5 in the Sandover.

He was rookie listed by the Eagles, therefore eligible. Senior listed players are not eligible, IIRC.

I thought the J-mac exclusion was surprising. I thought he did ok in the last few weeks. Not happy about Ebert being rushed in again. Needs more solid performances in the WAFL. He's classy when he's got the ball but he hasn't dominated the game at WAFL level. Don't think he'll do well in the collingwood game

Houlihan deserves more of a call up than ebert

On Houlihan:

I'm as miffed as anyone else. However - how many of us have seen his games recently? Stats don't tell the whole story, and as knowledgeable as some of us think we are, we have no idea what is discussed between coaches, players and the match committee. He's certainly showing fantastic signs, and considering he was recruited more for his athletic attributes than his football qualities, we should be very, very excited by this.

There may be certain areas he is being asked to work on - perhaps the defensive side to his game, or hard-ball gets. We just don't know. But the coaching staff have 20 times the amount of knowledge about his game than us, so all we can do is trust them.

P.S. - For the first time, Masten, Ebert, Scott Selwood and Cockie are playing together. Mark it in your diaries.

P.P.S. Oh and if Brown were to spend time forward, it'd give us a forward line of Brown-Kennedy-McKinley-LeCras.. That'd be worth noting down too...
