Prediction Round Four Changes vs. Adelaide

I never said I valued it over other traits, you were the one bagging him out and I was simply pointing out what Worner brings to the table.

The game requires lots of different attributes, there's lot of examples with players having great traits but not being able to make it at modern AFL level because they don't have the athleticism or the strength as well.
Then there's players with amazing skill and composure like Lukosius who still don't make it to amazing levels because they lack some of what Worner has - an AFL level trait if you don't mind.

Classic case of I can dish out a cheeky jab then have a sook when I receive one I see.

By all means though, let's keep pretending that Worner is not a weak link, despite his poor end to last season and poor start to season. Let's see how his 2026 season goes, I'm predicting weekly vents from this board about his performances, though I hope he proves me wrong. If he does, I'll happily eat my words

I agree, not your first rodeo, but I'll leave you to it as everyone has more important things to argue about on the internet.

Walker on Rankin is commonsense, but for some bizzare reason Worner is untouchable. Worner, respectfully, is a very average footballer with minimal afl attributes. Average decision maker, average ball use and zero composure
Walker not getting back in after Round 1 is really perplexing.
It’s either Worner or Chapman. Walker on his own has to come in. Just feel like the defence is susceptible to a small forward ripping apart a Chapman or Worner who are slow.

1) didn't watch the practice match but by all accounts Walker didn't play WAFL this past weekend, so presumably didn't pass the fitness test on his quad.

2) We basically never drop anyone after a win unless there's a long-term b23 player back from injury.

If Walker hadn't been injured, it's possible either Worner or Chappy could have copped it after r1 and made way for Ryan. (Clark is obviously undroppable, not to mention playing a different role, McVee is also playing a different role and presumably has some latitude to adjust to our system, Ryan also cemented his spot emphatically since returning.)

Chapman is definitely not slow, check his yo-yo results—or just watch match-ups on speedy mediums like Fritsch. Definitely more of a ding against Worner. Neither of these guys are as fast as Brandon Walker, but he's one of the fastest guys on our list.

I want Walker back in the b23 as much as anyone. It can only really be for Worner at this stage—Chappy is a great jumper at 193cms (vs 188cm for Worner) and can effect a spoil on one of Adelaide's KPFs. Walks, Worner, probably not. We can't be downsizing our defence against a forward set-up like Adelaide.

I'd probably go no unforced changes. You don't really learn much beating Richmond so I'd like to see the same group roll out V Adelaide.

It'll be interesting to see how our back 6 go against a quality forward line. We haven't really faced one yet. Huge game for McVee and Worner in particular.

Why is it perplexing? He's had a quad injury.

Torn on whether or not I want Dawson back for the Crows, one I'd like us to have more of a chance to win....but he's also in my fantasy team. Plus would like our midfield to test themselves against the best possible.
I have the same dilemma, but my fantasy team is cooked anyway. Started the season with Gulden, Rozee and Petracca as well so half my premos were out injured within two weeks.

It's an incredibly frustrating season already. I thought I had a fantastic team to start with but lost Young, Rozee, Petracca, Dawson, Murdoch, Marshall, and now Xerri. Now Robertson is out for a week as well and ZZ got dropped. Arrghh.

Geez I thought I had it bad... that is brutal, at least I missed the Xerri, Marshall and Young bullets, but had the rest of them. I feel the people that went less vanilla teams have been rewarded in fairness as a lot of the popular picks have gone down.

I think I described Chappy, but I'm assuming you're talking about McVee?
Yes, yes I am Kent.

But heaven forbid you dare question his spot in the team! Oh my gosh!

Don’t worry my team is also completely destroyed. Currently down at about 60k rank and getting worse.

I can’t even ditch Rozee because all the guys I want are on a bye (Ash, Whitfield and Sinclair).

It’s insanity.

Looking at defensive match ups, Pearce and Cox take Walker and Thilthorpe but who takes Fogarty? Ryan or Chapman? If Chapman I don’t see a match up for Ryan. So Ryan out , Walker in to cover their most dangerous small.
Horses for courses despite Ryan performing well in the last two games.

I don't think this is happening

You seem overly sensitive to criticism of your opinion King. You have a view, it is shared by some, others question it.

Nobody is trying to stop you from criticising Chapman, they are just disagreeing with you - it's a discussion forum.

Out: Worner, McVee
In: Walker, Simpson

I still wouldn’t mind Cox in for Darcy too, but granted Darcy’s second half was much improved.
Have never been a huge fan but gee I am keen to see M Cox in there, I think he will really fight for it.

Didn't think Walker's performance in round one screamed 'needs to come back into the side fresh off an injury'. He was okay - that's about it.

Think there's a few on here trying to pick one of Worner, Chapman or McVee just because one of them probably needs to go to fit Walker in.

Tbh I didn't think any of them were droppable after Saturday's game. Actually think all three of them offered about as much as Walker did in round one.

And yes, Walker kept Dangerfield quiet but we haven't exactly seen small/medium forwards run riot either. Melbourne had Pickett and Fritsch so not buying the lack of quality excuse. Also don't think Dangerfield is the scalp his reputation would lead you to believe - he might prove me wrong but I reckon he looked absolutely cooked in the SOO game and he's only got on the park once since.
