Prediction Round Six Changes vs. West Coast

Voss isn't playing with the same aggression as last year , It maybe a niggle that's limiting his impact.
Hope we get the beast back this week.

Yeah last week aside, when he had a genuine shocker (in tough conditions for a tall forward tbf), talk of Voss' poor form is overblown. If he was kicking at goal as accurately as he was in the second half of last year everyone would think he's going great.

He started last year with very dodgy goal kicking too, so hopefully whatever clicked last year does again soon.

2012 sticks out as a weird one, we were in some run of form to end that season
Pavlich going Super Saiyan in the second half of the year probably played a big part in that, but also getting players back from injury and Walters returning after being banished really helped us.

2012 Derbies were a complete reverse of each other though, West Coast belted us in the first one while sitting top of the ladder and then we belted them in the second one on top of Pav kicking 8.

Patrick Voss Is only a victim of his own poor kicking. He’s only behind Treacy for shots at goal and score involvements and marks i50 for the team. And he leads the league in tackles i50.
Watch out this weekend for the Three Amigos? Musketeers?
How about...THE THREE HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE!
The Pony just had another little lesson in what it means to be 3!
It's bedding in.
Menage a trois?
Dogga is in there too.

His accuracy is a phenomenon.

In his first 10 games he kicked 9.18

In his next 17 games he kicked 35.16

And in his last 5 games he’s kicked 4.12

Just waiting for the pendulum to swing back the other way. Any day now…

Last 3 matches very wet conditions and against Geelong he took kicks from the boundary

Let's see how he goes from now

Fremantle could bolster their already stacked midfield against West Coast with Hayden Young on the cusp of an AFL return from a hamstring injury.

Young has not featured since their loss to Geelong in round one after playing through a hamstring injury, but is likely to be available for the derby, provided he gets through training this week.

After taking a cautious approach to his recovery, coach Justin Longmuir said Young was “ready to go.”

“He’s had the extra week in rehab, and by all reports, his session on Sunday was really strong, so we’re expecting him to return,” he told 7News.

“If we had pushed him, he could have played last week, so that leaves him in really good shape to play the minutes for us that we need him to.”

Small forward Michael Frederick could also suit up for what would be his first AFL game of the season as he recovers from a pre-season ankle injury.

It comes as Longmuir said he was still weighing up whether to play two rucks and bring in Mason Cox for a western derby debut following Sean Darcy’s concussion.

“That’s obviously been the strategy we’ve gone with over the last two years when we have the availability, so we’ll definitely look at it,” he said.

“It’s been well noted that Luke Jackson performed well in the second half, and with a couple of players returning, there’s going to be a few selection chats over our structure this week.”

Cox had another strong display for Peel despite their loss to Claremont, racking up 34 hitouts to go with 19 disposals and six inside 50s as Longmuir watched on from the sidelines.

“I don’t think there’s been any doubt whether he’s AFL-ready or not; it’s been more about the opportunity,” he said on AFL360.

Bailey Banfield has also entered protocols after picking uo a knock in the WAFL while Sam Sturt continues to make progress from a knee injury.

FREMANTLE INJURY LIST
Michael Frederick (ankle) test
Hayden Young (hamstring) test
Sean Darcy (concussion) 1 week
Bailey Banfield (concussion) 1 week
Sam Sturt (knee) TBA
Small forward Michael Frederick? What...

After round 9 he was on 12 goals. He then kicked 57 in the remaining 14 games that year. Plus he was carrying a buggered achilles from the elimination final in the semi so we should really say 56 in 13 games.

Dont get too blase.

This is the one game they will try and get up for. Tim Kelly will play one of his two decent games for the year. .

Freo cannot afford to take this game lightly. In years gone by they would drop a game like this.

I'm not concerned. The Eagles board seem very confident.

Yeo and Kelly will be ready for their annual GF performances.

And that wasn't enough to get him AA.

Can you imagine if a Victorian darling like Curnow went on a run like that? They would have made him AA captain.

Given the news on Jaeger's face injury, I'll imagine the match committee go with

OUT: Darcy (concussion), Jaeger (injured) and Scerri (rested/omitted)
IN: M. Cox, Young, Frederick

Can't imagine any other unforced changes than that.
Looks like it's gone from being rather hard to rather easy IMO.

Hopefully JOM is going to be fine in a few weeks. It's probably fine he's out this week because the rest of our midfielders are available but I think we're only 2-3 midfield injuries away from being in a little bit of trouble depth wise. JOM being out doesn't help that situation.

Sharp and O’Driscoll are good enough to fill the fringes of the 22.
