Well it depends if the competition becomes a 2 tier structure (which is highly unlikely). But more importantly, is there a limit on the mid season trades that can be made between the 2 squads.

My view on the 2nd Baghdad team.

A week or so ago, Doggies spoke about introducing a reserves competition for the 2010 season. This competition involves an SFA team in which all the players from the other clubs who aren't getting a game, are playing. This team was supposed to be playing an AFL team.

Now, IN MY OPINION, I believe it would be best for us to have a reserves team playing in this competition instead of the AFL Team. A reserves team like this would mean players could be rewarded for good form and good posting by getting a call up to the senior side. Whilst if somebody's posting and/or form in the senior side has dropped off, they could be dropped.

I am against having a second team in the actual SFA competition as I would like to play with all the players in our team, where as if we got split up and weren't able to move teams, it would feel to me as if I am in a completely different team.


The reserves competition allows a perfect opportunity for us to showcase our depth and our talent.

We could have a coach for the reserves who would be picking the team each weel, and could work with SR to determine the ins and outs for the respective teams.

Or we could rotate the captaincy around certain players in the reserves team. This would keep their activity up and they could choose the side each week; after the Ins and Outs have been determined of course.


Of course, this is just my opinion, but I think it would work best.

sorry EFL_boy but i don't think the bombers should be able to have players who can come in and out of squads due to form even if there is a A grade and B grade competition.

Will affect the way clubs votes are formed (bombers problem) and may effect the way the other awards are competed againist in the comp eg mobbenfuher medal, leading goal kicker, EKA medal ect

doggies you state that there have been 3 proposals (including the roys) if we get 1 more that would create a 12 team comp where the possibility of 6 in the premier league and the other 6 in the premier reserves?? It could work that way the bombers can have a premier team and a premier reserves team, but the squads should stay the same through the season. that way the botton 2 sides are relgated from the premier grade and the top 2 from the premier reserves are promoted

Cant have a standalone Bombers reserve. Allows them to access to much talent at a time really EFL. In theory you guys can put 40 blokes on your list and guarantee them all a game. No other side can do that under your proposal.

It would be sensible, if there were two divisions, to start any new clubs in that wnd division.

The way you've named it is a little skewiff though. I'd be just calling it Premier and Junior, or Premier and Div 1 or Premiers and Div 2, or Divs 1 Div 2. It'd be odd having the lowest grade referred to as a type of Premier!

Yep the name of the leagues wasn't the major point i was getting across so i didn't put much thought into the names

Even so we could have a vice administrator (maybe something you might be interested in mobs) to take care of the division 2 league. That way Doggies isn't bombared with 6 games needing to be simmed rather his work load is reduced to 3 sims and the division 2 would only have 2 or 3 games for the "vice admin"

Don't like the reserves competition at all really. Means lists would chop and change a lot, as well as having to sim two competition. You'll go from a job that takes two hours tops to sim and post to something that will be akin to double that by the time you're transferring players from league to league; simming two leagues. Heaps of work for the admin - and there will be weekends where you won't be up for 3/4 hours of simming and posting.

As far as from a competition perspective goes; why would someone in the reserves post? What incentive do they have? You could have a strong club like Baghdad where 30 players post and some of those 10 not getting a game won't want to stay in the comp. for a year.

Under the current format, they'd just change clubs - or have another team come in (like the Bombers team that has been mooted).

I also believe the teams should be fixed - i.e. players unable to move until end of season once they've been assigned to a team - as far as the Bombers teams go.

And this 2 divisions stuff is ridiculous.

First point is that if a 2 tier structure was formed, movement between the Bombers team would be allowed. It would not be a problem in anyway. Our B&F - have a senior B&F and reserves B&F, League Awards - umm, how would it affect this at all except to be a disadvantage to Bombers players, relegation - could just exclude the Bombers from this. Also should be noted that just because I receive proposals doesn't mean they'll all be accepted by the league.

Boncer, if it was a 2 tier system then I can understand you thinking its a tad unfair, but if any other club can get enough members then they'd be allowed to do likewise. If it was purely as EFL suggested in that instead of having SFA Reserves v AFL Team every week we had Bombers Reserves v Rest of SFA Reserves then this wouldn't be an official competition and so its really no problem.

Tigs, as said a reserves idea (not Division 2) would not be an official league or games. Merely a chance for players who are not getting a game at their club to play.

I knew there would be someone who didn't read my earlier posts. First i suggested in having a vice admin so they can run the reserves comp. this way the admin duties are split and therefore it turns out they do less work than a normal admin would do

Good point why would someone want to post who have been cut from the main side and put into a reserves side. I only know of the bombers who are doing this all the onther sides are one team clubs.

No names? You really are a noob aren't you. There's quite a few club legends and excellent posters on the second team EFL posted in the thread. It was completely based on recent posting and a lot of those players are MUCH bigger names than a lot of the players in the first team named.

Quite a few of those guys are busy studying or doing other things and have told us they'll be active once they have more time.
It may look like they've just been delisted and put in another club to you but it was just putting things into perspective with regards to our list.

This is the first time a league plus reserves team has been posted in the thread and any earlier attempts at a best 20 wouldn't have had around 10 odd players from our current list on them so the only reson no names would have been in any reserves list would be bacause there were no names at all in the list.
