If it is true about hendo then its a shame, put shim behind the 8 ball.

I dont want to see big krooze rushed at all, if anything I would like to be extra, extra cautious with him.

There is a queenslander who has been spotted with a supermodel recently who I would like to see leading out of the goal square and giving Warnock a break.

Can this Queenslaner catch the ball though???

Just asked Russell here at training. Confirmed that Hendo had gone in for hip surgery and would be on the sidelines for 6-8 weeks.

Pretty much rules him out until the end of February. Fingers crossed he won't lose too much of the work he put in prior to Christmas. He boy was flying.

Rumour has it that in September Kreuz had a minor setback in his recovery and needed to be operated on again. Im not sure what the setback was, all i know is that it was not healing as it should have been. There could be a real possibility that he will not return until round 11 this year.

I know for sure that the hickup is true, the return date however i'm thinking could be fluff, and a return earlier more than likely. Time will tell...

Praying nothing else goes wrong.

Gee hopefully it's not as late as rnd 11 :(
We need him out there as soon as possible. Such an important player.

Say it aint so :(

Although not great news, I think with the form that 206 has been showing we should be O.K. Also, Hampson needs to step up as a back up and we will be fine.

If 206 get's injured, then were ****ed.

I don't have a problem with Kreuzer not coming back until round 11. Kreuzer injured his knee in round 13, so there's no need to bring him back before he's ready. Too valuable a player to risk for the sake of winning a few games. We brought a few players back early last year, so I hope we've learnt our lesson.

Bower should not have been rushed back into the side early last season.

Waite should have been getting a bit more match fitness into him in the Ants for the first 4 weeks of last season.

Rushing Kreuzer back early is a sure way of ensuring that he will stuff his knee up again and then we might be stuck with a 21 year old ruckman with a stuffed knee.

I call crap on that rumour.

Possibly out of optimism, but I don't buy it.

Had we known in September/early October that Kreuz suffered a setback, we wouldn't have lost a ruckman and not attempted to get another on the list.

At the end of last season we had Kreuzer, Warnock, Jacobs and Hampson.

Kreuz was on the come back trail from a knee reco, Hammer with persistent knee troubles & Warnock working his way back from a long way out of the game.

Jacobs was 4th in line.

We lost Jacobs leaving 3 on the list. Possibly only 1 at near to full fitness in Warnock, with 2 uncertainties in Kreuz and Hammer.

I refuse to believe that we went through the list changes period without attempting to add another ruckman to the list - be it through the trade period, National Draft or Rookie Draft.

That would be terrible list management and to be honest, it just doesn't add up.

I don't think Kreuz will be ready for round 1. I think at the very earliest we'll see him in round 3, if we are lucky. It might be closer to mid season that we see him, and that's fine.

But I don't believe that we would have risked having 1 (if that) fit ruckman for a significant portion of season 2011.

No way.

I like your attempt on logic there but Jacobs was going regardless and we had to get a deal (would have preferred a better one).

We drafted tall (Watson, McCarthy and Mitchell) - and we have been blooding Casboult as ruckman during the pre-season.

If Kreuzer has had a setback its not the end of the world - he still has 10+ years at Carlton.

Lets use the first 10 rounds of this season to put as much experience and development into Hampson as possible - it may just be the making of him as a player.

I'm not complaining about Jacobs leaving - not the fact he left, not the trade we got.

That has nothing to do with it.

I just refuse to believe that we would not have replaced him (be it through a trade or draft....far more likely draft) if we knew Kreuz had suffered a setback & Hammer was struggling with his knee, leaving us effectively with 1 fit ruckman in Warnock who has spent a year out of the game not long ago.

Yes we drafted tall and that's great, but it's largely irrelevant to this discussion as none of them are ruckmen.

You are right that the MC is trying to mould Levi into a ruckman, but we all know he's a mile off it. The MC would be well aware of it, and wouldn't have not recruited a ruckman because Levi is developing.

Agree on Hampson - his time is now. Showed great promise in 2009 in the ruck. I'm confident he'll do well if given the opportunity, and if this rumour turns out to be true, I'm sure he'll get plenty of games.
